Wha! Pie!
Could whoever posted that recipe for Chocolate Bourbon Pie repost it or PM me w/ the recipe? It got blown away with the noob thread that it was in.
Any other recipies for pie are appreciated too.
Advance apologies. I know this isn't really the proper forum, but there is no "pie" forum.
Maybe a Guild Wars pie?
Avicara Pot Pie: Feeds 26.
80 lbs carrots, 80 lbs potatos...
Do not substitute Tengu as it is not the same type of bird.

Bourbon-Chocolate Pecan Pie with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
Quote:
1 cup flour, plus 1 1/2 tablespoons
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon sugar, plus 3/4 cup
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
2 tablespoons ice water
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup heavy cream
2 1/4 cups pecan pieces
6 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup (packed) light brown sugar
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons cane syrup (or molasses)
1 cup, plus 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
3/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter, melted
3 tablespoons (or more) Bourbon whiskey
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, recipe follows
Crust: Combine 1 cup of the flour, salt and 3/4 teaspoon of the sugar in a mixing bowl. Add the shortening and work it in your hands until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add the water, a little at a time, and work it in with your hands. Add only as much as you need for a smooth ball of dough. Wrap the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Remove the dough from the refrigerator and place it on a lightly floured surface. Roll out the dough on the floured surface into a circle about 12 inches in diameter and 1/8-inch thick. Gently fold the circle of dough in half and then in half again so that you can lift it without tearing it, and unfold into a 9-inch pie pan. Refrigerate for 1 hour, or until ready to fill.
Filling: Put the chocolate chips in a small bowl. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until just boiling, then pour over the chocolate chips. Stir until the chocolate has melted and a smooth sauce has formed. Set aside and reserve for the pie.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Remove the pie shell from the refrigerator, and spread the pecan pieces evenly on the bottom. Combine the eggs, the remaining 3/4 cup sugar, brown sugar, cane syrup, corn syrup, vanilla, salt, butter, and the remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons flour in a mixing bowl. Mix well. Pour the mixture over the pecans.
Bake for about 1 hour, or until the filling sets and the pastry is nicely browned. When you remove the pie from the oven, drizzle the whiskey over-top the pie. Pokes holes into the pie filling with the tip of a sharp knife so the bourbon has a route to travel.
Cool for 10 minutes, and then pour the chocolate mixture over top the pie. Let the pie set in the refrigerator for 10 minutes for the chocolate to harden, then slice, and serve the pie with the vanilla bean ice cream. The pie may also be served warmed briefly in a microwave.
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream:
3 cups heavy cream
2 cups milk
1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
12 large egg yolks
1 cup sugar
Combine the cream and 1 cup of the milk in a large heavy saucepan. Scrape the seeds into the cream mixture and add the bean pod. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
Whisk the yolks and sugar in a medium bowl. In a slow and steady stream, whisk 1 cup of the hot cream mixture into the egg mixture. Gradually whisk the egg mixture back into the saucepan. Stir constantly over medium-low heat until the mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon and reaches 170 degrees F on an instant-read thermometer, about 5 minutes. Strain through a fine- mesh sieve into a heatproof medium bowl.
Stir in the remaining 1 cup milk into the ice cream base and cover with plastic wrap, pressing the wrap against the surface of the custard to prevent a skin from forming. Refrigerate until well chilled, at least 2 hours.
Pour the chilled custard into an ice cream machine. Churn according to the manufacturer's instructions. Pack into an airtight container and freeze until ready to serve.

Heres a hawaii favorite:

Chocolate Haupia (Coconut) Pie Recipe #112524
I looked everywhere for this recipe and finally found it. My family loves it and it is so easy to make!
1 prepared 9 inch pie shell
1 (14 ounce) can coconut milk
1 cup sugar
1 cup whole milk (but you can us skim or low fat)
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 cup water
7 ounces semisweet chocolate
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup sugar
chocolate shavings, for garnish
8 servings Change size or US/metric
Change to: servings US Metric
1 hour 20 minutes 20 mins prep
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Bake crust for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Set aside to cool.
In a medium saucepan, whisk together milk, coconut milk and 1 cup sugar.
In a separate bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in water.
Bring coconut mixture to a boil.
Reduce to simmer and slowly whisk in the cornstarch.
Continue stirring mixture over low heat until thickened.
In a small sauce pan, melt chocolate chips for 1 minute or until melted.
Reserve 1/2 of the coconut mixture.
Mix remaining half with the melted chocolate and pour in bottom of pie crust; pour reserved half on top of chocolate layer.
Cover and refrigerate for about an hour.
Whip cream with 1/4 cup sugar until stiff peaks form.
Layer the cream on pie; if desired garnish with chocolate shavings.
*Best if it refrigerates over night to completely firm (reccomended)
|
i reccomend you wait for it to cool (refrigerate overnight) as it tastes MUCH better cooled.
There is a better way to make haupia but this is decent enough for a pie.
Again, like i said...even if you dont like coconut..think again..try it it's AWESOME (comming from someone who usualy doesnt like coconuts )

Meh..after thinking about this post....
I call this:
Lazy Gamer's Pie aka. "Uber Leet Pie"
Ingredients:
Premade Oreo Cookie Crust (or premade graham cracker crust)
1 pint Coffee Icecream (I use starbukks..yes they make coffee icecream)
1 pint Cookie Dough Icecream (Ben and Jerry's is what i use)
3 bags recess pieces (or any other CRUNCHY candy of your choice..can't be chewy..so basicly anything with caramal in it is out)
1 chocolate bar (hershey's dark chocolate for me..)
Whiped cream (the kind that's in a can)
Tools:
Large Mixing Bowl
Spatula (to scrape down the sides
Wooden Spoon (or utensil to mix icecreams together and spoon in mixture)
Knife (any knife should do..including plastic knives)
What To Do:
1. Defrost your icecream (should be semi-hard and workable but not melted)
2. Pour both pints of icecream into a large mixing bowl
3. Throw in your favorite Crunchy candy (see ingredients list above)
4. Mix completely with wooden spoon (lightly so the candies dont break)
5. By now your icecream should be semi-solid but a bit more creamy (aka a bit melted). If its too liquidy throw it inthe freezer for about 5 minutes untill its the right consistancy.
6. Once at a right consistancy, spoon mixture into pie crust. And eat/freeze left over mixture (as it makes a yummy treat). DO NOT over fill the pie.
7. smooth out the top of pie (this is why i told you not to overfill it)
8. top pie with whiped cream (little dabs to make it fancy or just lay it on if you don't care)
9. chop the chocolate bar into thin slices and sprinkle over the top of the pie.
10. Let freeze untill completely firm (4-5 hours or over night)
11. [optional] When serving, slice off a piece of pie and drizzle on warm home-made (I make my own) or storebought (for you lazy-er people) caramal.
Enjoy.

I fit the description of not being able to cook. I can cook eggs and top ramen. The rest of the stuff basically makes itself. Hot Pockets, toast, sandwiches, cereal, eggo waffles.
Yeah.. I'm cool. I get people to make food for me.
