NOT Another REGULAR Summer Movie Thread
OK ... I've seen all kinds of threads being started here in regards to what's your favourite music ... what are you eating ... who's your favourite mod ... blah blah blah ... So I'd like to try something a little different ...
It's summer movie season ... indeed with Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Batman Beyond, we are already well into the BIG releases ... so instead of asking all of you which movies you're going to see this summer ...
I'd like to know which movies you think are going to be the worst? Who's going to turn in the worst performance? Which is going to have the worst storyline? Let's make this our own little version of the razzies ...
Soooo ... I'll start off with my picks ...
Tom Cruise - he's bombed in the last two Spielberg productions ... I think this one will be the hat trick ...
Nicole Kidman - Sorry ... I don't think she can pull off the cute and funny that role really needs ... I don't even think Farrell will be able to save her ...
Katie Holmes - for no other reason than she's dating Cruise ...
And my big razzie is going to go to ...
Fantastic Four - I'm sorry ... it just looks soooooo bad ... but I'll probably see it anyway ...
So ... go ahead and tear apart the big blockbusters of the summer ... if you need inspiration ... head over to http://www.apple.com/trailers

All of them are awful. Apart from Sin City and Batman Begins...

Well, I agree with you on Tom Cruise. I just can't stand the man. I watch some of his movies only for the fact that the story are good or other actors are in it. But the idea of him and Spielberg (who I thought had more sense) hack-... remaking an old classic, just plain scares me.
Fantastic 4 I'm not sure about. I like comics, but I was never a "fangirl", so I'm willing to suspend my disbelief and just enjoy the action.
PS - Venge, just so you know, movies are big deal with me.... go and see em at least once a month, usually more. The husband made a list back in January for all the movies we plan on seeing this year.

Well THAT was a rather blanketing statement ... care to pontificate upon why ALL of them will be awful?

Well most action flicks (See Mr and Mrs er... don't know the surname) are going to be predictable, and War of the Worlds... GOD! talk about lacking Originality...! and most of the other movies are treading on a dead fish
I'd say either Sin City or Batman Begins, because they both look good, and even the lucky few who watched it agree that they are very good movies. I know I'm going to get some criticism, but why waste money on CopyCat Movies or some predictable storylines with a good name?

NO!!! NO CRITICISMS!!! I don't want to see people attacking your opinions unless it is to point out that another movie will suck even worse ... The whole point of this thread is to point out why these movies are gonna stink! This is your soap box ... stand on it proudly and preach away ...

Hey ... movies are a HUGE deal with me too ... I just figured instead of everyone getting into the same pattern of fighting over which movie is going to be awesome ... let's switch it around and make fun of some of these production and more importantly their stars!
For example ... I now have to LIVE ... with the fact that my gf LOVED Mr. and Mrs. Smith ... mostly because of Brad ... however I felt it was nothing more than an adrenaline infused version of Douglas and Turner in War of the Roses ... I didn't enjoy it ... but then again, I've never enjoyed Mr. Pitt ... with maybe the exception of his cameo in True Romance as Floyd ...
So ... the Mr. and Mrs. gets a little bit of a razzie ... but I'm still giving the big one to FF ...

Tom Cruise is a rather creepy guy.
He's in the Church of Scientology, and is currently the second highest rank. If he donates another two billion or so, he will ascend to the highest rank, which means an alien no longer lives in his head.
The donations come from your purchases of anything he is in. A portion of your movie ticket, DVD, etc goes to his church.

Well, I am syked about seeing Mr. and Mrs. Smith... NOT for Brad Pitt. I actually liked War of the Roses and I'm thinking M&M will be kinda funny.
Another horrible, horrible slap to my childhood: The Dukes of Hazzard. We're probably gonna watch it anyway, just so we can say we saw it and run screaming from the theater... But I'm really, really, really trying to get my husband to change his mind and take me out somewhere nice instead.
Just thinking about this movie makes me want to hurl, cry and tear someone's eye's out all at once

Heh heh heh ... as much as my inner core wants to disagree with you ... especially every time I hear that horn ... YOU ARE SOOOOO RIGHT!!! That movie is gonna SUCK!!!
Jay Chandrakandraravinadad ... I'm paraphrasing of course ... when he did Super Troopers ... it was OK ... Club Dread ... not so good ... Dukes of Hazard? brrrr ...
I just wish that the Colin Farrell Miami Vice remake was this summer ... i can't wait to point out what's going to be wrong with that one ...

Hey! There's no loving in this thread! We're here to talk about movies that are gonna SUCK! (Yes, with all caps). Like, X-Men 3!
I'm sorry but it's true. They've been soooo wishy-washy on that one lately, I fear for the whole franchise.

Wait a minute ... do you think it's going to be GOOD ... or BAD? I'm having a hard time deciphering here ...
and that one's going to be bad because it's got Matt Dillon as the villain ... this isn't Something About Mary Matt ... you won't have Brett Fav-re to back you up here ...
And ... can someone point out to EnDinG that he has veins which are thicker than Miss Lohan?

Theres only one movie I'm going to go see this summer. LAnd Of The Dead. Why? Because George Romero is a GOD. Oh, and if Bruce Campbell does anything this summer, I'll go see that.
