i dont have an assassin but i am a monk. and dont worry its not just u its every assassin i know. thats why i discourage the party leader to use to many of em because they are to hard to heal when you have more that 1.

Assns aren't bad. It's the players. They have the same armor as rangers who can, if necessary, tank. They don't have as good healing (i.e. TU or stances) but they can kite the best of pretty much any class, I'd say. If you're dying a lot as an assn you're most likely playing it wrong. Have your assn have one strong 2-3 hit combo, a healing spell or two, and 1-2 things to help kite (i.e. Viper's Defenses, Recall, those kinda things). Hop in battle, get off your combo, and get out.
As for assns in a party, as a monk (or any class, really) I demand that there's never more than 2. Even 2 is too much for me. I request one alongside a tank.

ASSASINS ARE NOT TANKS!!!!ASSASINS ARE NOT TANKS!!!!ASSASINS ARE NOT TANKS!!!!ASSASINS ARE NOT TANKS!!!!ASSASINS ARE NOT TANKS!!!!ASSASINS ARE NOT TANKS!!!!ASSASINS ARE NOT TANKS!!!!ASSASINS ARE NOT TANKS!!!!
youve got average armor and crappy healing.
the best way is to use your teleportation wisely. For example, one strategy is to have a few assasins teleport to the monk, take him down, and when things get hairy, teleport out

Have I said how I love assassins in competitive missions? ... when they're trying to kill my ranger I mean. I throw dirt and they usually keep attacking. Result: 1 kindle arrow and a few poison arrows and dual shot later and they warp back to the rez shrine
Honestly, many assassins should learn when to run, and where to run. Assassins can be deadly - but most of the players don't know when to step back or not.
