Nope, that's not it. Get with the program. GW isn't a MMORPG, even though it is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, because the assertion is that the sole defining character of MMORPGs is that it must have a persistent world. That a game is Massive, Multiplayer, contains Role Playing or is even Online is completely optional - cf that A Tale In The Desert (with a total population of about five people) and Neverwinter Nights (which was a single-player offline game which supported user-made online mods) are considered MMORPGs.
Heck, in the case of ATITD, even the "G" bit of MMORPG is debatable.
So let's not pretend as if there is in fact a lot of instanced content in bona-fide MMORPGs like WoW and EQ2 and CoH, and that there is in fact persistent content in GW, namely outposts and towns: GW is not a MMORPG, it's a CORPG!
ANet says so, so it must be true!

We talked about this today in my sociology class. Sadly, the only defense for those who spend a lot of time on MMOs or message boards was that it was okay for people who aren't "normal."
I get a kick out of that class.

A major city can get 1000+ people in it. Say something in public chat, and that's hard core public speaking experience right there.

I guess this is only true for some people, I have been playing online games for many... many years and I hate people more today than when I started.
