It didn't matter what they held the Colts to. The Steeler offense couldn't even move the damn ball, much less score. That game was over on the Colts first offensive play, an 80-yard bomb to Marvin Harrison. Thank you for coming, hit the lights on your way out.
You left the Bears off your NFC list. Their defense can dominate anybody on any given Sunday. Beating the Panthers and Bucs in consective weeks has shown a lot about that team. They are for real. They're no match for the AFC top teams of course, but they are easily a match for any NFC squad.
The Jags have no chance. Losing Byron Leftwich this week killed their season. I would have said they had a chance to knock of the Colts and grab a wild card... now, they're toast. It'll come down to the Colts and Broncos, and the Colts OWN the Broncos... so it's ultimately no contest.

the jags will win more games and can get the wild card there back up is strong and good plus jags D has stopped the colts before
the bears are not good nuff on O on D they are great but O no the bears will not go very far yea they will win some games and have the best D in the nfl but thats about it.
ben was rusty monday night after missing 3 games with knee problems once his rust go's away he will be hard to take down
if anyone beats the colts it will be the steelers in the afc because no one else can stop the colts in the playoffs.

No it won't because both of them will have wrapped up home field advantage by that point. Niether team will have anything left to play for. Tony Dungy (Colts coach) is already on record saying that once they wrap up home field, he's going to start resting his starters. So unless Peyton and Co. can run up 30+ points in one quarter (not impossible I guess) they'll likely lose 1 or 2 towards the end of the year because it simply won't matter to the standings.
Seattle are the ultimate choke artists... they always seem to blow it when it counts. Lucky for them when they tried THREE TIMES to give away the Giants game, the Giants didn't want it. They have feasted on an easy schedule and by playing in the weakest division in football. When you can count on pounding the 49ers and the Cardinals twice a year, it makes winning look easy. They're going to be exposed in the playoffs.

yes they do, Colts- new record for undefeated season (dolphins have 13-0, but colts will have 16-0, that is if they go undefeated). and Seahawks- respect, they are 9-2, yet no one talks about them much as, colts, steelers, or bears. and yes i know they even said it on monday night football/nfl.com (i forgot where) that they wont have much to play for.

Which means more... an undefeated season, or winning the Super Bowl? How big of an ass will Tony Dungy look like if he's still playing Peyton Manning in week 16 and Peyton takes a bad hit and is knocked out? Manning set the single season record for TD passes last year. What did it get him? Another playoff defeat. Records don't matter, championships matter. If there's one thing the Patriots dynasty proves, it is that long term goals have to override flashy stats and setting records. I guarantee you Peyton would rather have the ring than an undefeated season.

Manning doesnt have to play hard in order for Colts to win, their schedule is easy for the rest of the season except seattle and san diego, they play San francisco, jacksonville, and Arizona on the other weeks. There defense is more then enough to beat those three. and If I played in the nfl, id go for records more then winning the superbowl. Heh but then again, i dont :S

The Jags play the Colts tough. Their hardest game of the season so far was against Jacksonville. San Diego will be playing their hearts out. They are in the midst of a TOUGH playoff race. One more loss and they might be out of it, so you know they'll be playing hard. Outside of the Colts, the Chargers probably have the best offense in football, and their D is no slouch. I'm betting that's where the undefeated season ends and the rest of the year becomes a moot point anyway.

it would be nice if the colts went 17-0 or 16-0 but i am not sure what they will do once they get all they need,
the seahawks maybe not fall apart this year and i wonder how the eagles will fair vs them this up comming monday after all this time philly starts running the ball and in those games they won or came close when it was all pass no rushing you had no winning i hope next year the eagles do much better then now and i hope they RUN the ball tons more then just this passing stuff it didnt work they are 4-6 i wonder what they would be if they ran the ball 25 to 30 times a game maybe 6-4 maybe better anyways owens is a NIGHTMARE to any team he go's to and any team that he's on if owens is smart he will fire his agent and get one that is not so greedy and one that will not get him fired or get him fired
but.... watch out for denver 9-2 plummer is not throwing tons of ints and they have a good running game the redskins keep letting other teams beat them before the game is over they gotta fix that cuz of not wrapping up wins they are getting loses at 5-5 ugh not very good however one win was stolen from them by the cheating refs at the bucs game bad calls cost redskins that game the bucs 2 pt go for was stopped short and then they say no it's good lol i saw it he didnt cross the plane.
but hey im a eagles fan this year i dont hope much for them but id like to see them win a few more games and make the season worth something to look at
well peace out.

The Colts will still play their starters once they clinch. They just won't play them the whole game. Having a game off doesn't matter at that point in the season, it won't help 'heal' players. By this time of the season everyone is banged up and only weeks of rest will really help them.
And don't forget, Manning has a considerable games-started streak going, they won't sit him. He will play at least the first quarter or half of every game.

The Eagles weakness for a few years has been their rushing game. Let's look at the rushing from the past five Super Bowls (rushing yds in parentheses):
2000- Stl (29) vs Tenn (159)- Rams won but the Titan's running game kept them in it.
2001- Balt (111) vs NYG (66)- Ravens defense was pure nasty in the win.
2002- Stl (90) vs NE (133)- One of the biggest upsets in the Super Bowl ever, helped by the running game.
2003-TB (150) vs Oak (19)- The Bucs d was incredible that year, and a key to stopping the run.
2004- Car (92) vs NE (127)- A close one and the rushing yards bear this out in the Pats win.
2005-Phili (45) vs NE (115)- Pats win but Phili was able to overcome their rushing deficit with none other then Mr Malcontent, TO.
There were many factors in the wins, but if you notice, the team that rushed the most had the odds in their favor. It's an old ideal in football.
Now, Phili almost won it despite having crappy rushing yards because they had the best WR in the game. If the Eagles get a good #1 WR and a good #1 RB, they will be unstoppable.
Problem is, they already signed Westbrook to a deal so I don't think they will persue another top RB. But they need to, Westbrook is not the answer.
What they should do is make a move for Jamal Lewis. Shaun Alexander is too iffy to leave Seattle IMO, and I don't think Indy will let James get away either. And neither of the last two are a good fit for the Eagles. Lewis would be a good fit, however.

I don't know if the Eagles have any cap space left for Jamal Lewis. T.O. and McNabb eat up about 7 million in cap space alone and Kearse is one of the top 3 highest paid players in the league. Then and again the salary cap is a dark science and very few people fully understand it.
Let's see if offense wins championships.

Jamal Lewis is finished as a featured back in the NFL. I don't know what happened to him in the prison term, but he's never been the same since. Based on his lack of production and off the field problems, I would be VERY hesitent to invest a serious amount of money in him. Any contract he gets should be heavily weighed with incentives and little guaranteed money (similar to what TO is looking at right now).
Alexander is probably staying in Seattle, depending on how they do in the playoffs. If they flame out early and choke (AGAIN) he may decide to bolt. But if the Seahawks do well in the postseason, the smart money is on him staying put. Plus a lot of teams seem to be shifting from a "featured back" system to one where they split time between two RB's. Teams like Dallas, Minnesota, and Denver have found success with this. Of course if you have a big time back (Tomlinson, James, Alexander) you run them all day long. But many teams are proving that you can be successful with several lesser backs.
The Colts Super Bowl chances live and die based on their defense. I've been saying this practically since day 1. Their offense has never been in question. But it has been their defense that always let them down in the past. Right now the Colts D is playing very well. If they can continue to do so, they are the easy favorites for the Super Bowl. If they don't (and their game against Cincinnati was somewhat scary) then they could be in trouble, especially against the tougher offenses in the league (Denver, San Diego, Seattle).

You shouldnt say jamal lewis is finished. Reason- hes only 28. He still has alot to learn, any nfl team needing of a back would pick him up if he doesnt get his contract resigned. Also, patriots did you see their defense today? 3 interceptions, and JP losman only had one td and that was end of 4th quarter, when they had all their back up positions in(though they are mostly 2nd and 3rd strings atm Lol). tom Brady- 329 yards for 27 for 30 some attempts. 2 tds and 2 ints and 1 rushin td. Corey dillon 22 attempts for like 102 yards the patriots are back

After the first three hard teams they faced and lost those games after that they have had really easy games facing the worst teams in the NFL so I dont like how easy it has been for the pats to win the rest of there games. the eagles had a much harder time facing the hardest teams in the NFL they lost more games cuz of hard teams, being hurt, and mr ego jerk owens, the colts are
13-0 and I dont see anyone beating them so at long last we will have a new super bowl champion and it will be the colts the super bowl I can see is this
Seahawks vs Colts Super Bowl XL
42 colts Seahawks 35.
well thats about all I can say.

Was watching a couple of highlights. Jerome Bettis has still got that power despite his old age. Also watched the Packers/Lions and Falcons/Saints games last weekend. I'm quite happy that GB finally got a victory. Ah well at least I can look forward to draft day without Mike Sherman as GM.
