internet evil games evil
In my experince, sometimes i play game a little too much. But then I an logged on to the internet too much too, just waiting for something to happen like a good IM chat or something. That and my hobbies do have me sitting in front of a cmoputer for a long time. Like when I color my drawing and stuff. Or answering and sorting e-mails. I think i spend too much time online and most of it is waiting for something to happen.
On Guild wars at least I feel like something is going on. Doing mission and stuff with other people is a nice change from just soloing it on a console where after you beat the game it's like "what next? what did I really accomplish?" At least on guild wars I do a get a sense of some accomplishment, seeing the story progress, finding a rare item, or getting a new idea on what to draw. I don't get bored easy but most of the time I need a little kick of inspiration to get me off the comp, but then i'm back on when i want to color my lastest drawing. Games are just for you to sit down for a little bit and have a little adventure when nothing else is going on, but if you are a shut in then nothing is ever going on and you just set yourself up for more game time. It's a vicious circle. If your a nerd like me.
I guess some people get addicted like gambling, if it's something you do by yourself then you have a problem, like drinking.
But at least with my drawing I have a sense of accomplishing something. And with guild wars, there are people around on these forums that help give me ideas on stuff to draw so that's nice. I vivst these forums a lot, but i don't look around that much.
I've noticed that on the higher levels of Guild wars, it's less about moving the story foreward and more about capping skills of scoring a bonus for titles or something.
