Angry Screw the oil companies.. this needs to stop!

I hope these guys die of some horribel disease. This is so wrong that 9 people get to decide that we pay more for gas. Just when prices were looking good and falling back to where they were, they have to go and try and force them back up. Fuhqing rat bastards... Money hungry greedy pieces of shit.

Quote:
ABUJA, Nigeria – OPEC will cut global oil production by 1 million barrels a day, Nigerian oil minister and OPEC president Edmund Daukoru said Wednesday.

"The cut itself is agreed," Daukoru told reporters after a Cabinet meeting in the Nigerian capital, adding the cuts would begin at the end of the month.

Daukoru said members of the producing cartel were still working out how to share the cuts, but were "nearing consensus."

Daukoru's comments followed a slew of reports attributed to anonymous sources from member countries who said the cartel planned to trim daily production by 1 million barrels to prop up prices.

Daukoru had said last week that OPEC was considering holding an emergency meeting before its scheduled Dec. 14 conference to discuss what to do about falling prices.

Oil prices have fallen sharply in recent weeks. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, light, sweet crude oil futures for November delivery reached a fresh eight-month settlement low Tuesday. The contract settled down $1.44, or 2.4 percent, at $58.52 a barrel.

Ok what is so wrong about letting us actually pay something that is still expensive for gas? We are payin a little over 2 bucks here and that is still fairly expensive. It was up at $2.89 for the longest time before it fell. So what? You dont make 1000000 million dollars this year. So you make 100000 million instead. Who cares? The average person is putting out way to much money as it is for a nice car and on top of that they have to pay gas prices. Ya they fell, that is a GOOD thing. They need to think about the average person rather then their own stupid ass wallets. Our government needs to step in and do something about it. But they wont. Stupid. When i first started driving 2 years ago gas was around a dollar 25 or so. Then it went to 2 and we were crying unfairness. Now it got up to 3 and we screamed at the government, it dropped back to around 2 and we became more content, now it looks like we are going to go back to the 3 dollar range. 3 dollars for a stupid gallon of gas. Someone needs to beat the living crap out of those guys...

Since this thread pop up in regards to oil, perhaps its time to draw some attention to the effects of Peak oil and if we are prepared it for it?

2.15 right down the street, as long as it doesn't shoot back up to 4 to 5 bucks a gallon, I'll be fine.

The exxon outside of town was selling regular unleaded for 5.30 and people were actually buying it x.x

Meh, I wish gas was still 1.35 a gallon, I'd bitch when it'd shoot up to 1.40, so now that it's over 2 bucks, you can tell my stance on it.

Thallandor, the peak oil theory is all well and good, but there are so many unknown variables, it is almost not worth bothering with. In the 1970s, oil would be depleted by 2000. In the '90s, it was in "steep decline," and now, apparently, we've run out and it's just a matter of time. Of course, this neglects the fact that the Saudis have just recently stated we've used less than 40% of the world's oil as of 2005 (or something close to that) as well as the finding of the largest offshore gulf oil field that is expected to contain over 40 billion (with a b) barrels of oil. And that oilempire site is just a joke and can't be taken seriously.

2 things need to be thought about in relation to the price of gas (if you're an American):

1) We pay much less than almost any other country in the world for our gas.

2) As a percentage of the average American's income, the amount a family pays for gas is almost a third of what it was in the late '70s and early '80s. While the price of gas has gone up some, sure, the average american wage has proportionally increased much faster.

So, basically, there's not a lot of reason for anyone to complain about the price of gas in America.

No, but when there's not much wrong in peoples' lives they get bored and start to nitpick.

Good thing my legs don't need fuel because I do a lot of walking...

Personally I think this is a just a scam to get people to not drive all the time...you know, a clever plot to make us all not fat... Think about it, it may just be true.

the highest I saw around here (at the peak) was $3.49 for reg unleaded....glad that dropped back to under $3--------and yes I remember the days when you could get gas under a buck...and cars only got 8 miles to the gallon. (and the early '70's gas lines, glad school was a short walk away then).
Hybred is the way now...got a friend who just got one---44miles to the gallon!! sweeeeeet.....will get one of those when I get my next car (that will be a while since I tend to keep cars for more than 10years.....)
