My quest for a better game.
I'm looking for a game that has it all, I don't care about monthly subscriptions. Is there a game out there that I'm missing?
Things I love about a game:
1)indepth character development and skills
2)grind, grind, and more grind to lvl 80-100 or higher if possible.
3)community
4)farming for gold and loot.
5)trading
6)a deep storyline with voice acting and good cutscenes
7)good controls and hud layout
8)options to control your life in the game, build a home, create a family with characters in the game, get a job, run a town or castle, whatever.......basically have total charge of your life to do what ever it is you decide to do, similar to real life with consequences.
Most games I play offer some of these things, but no game offers them all.
I currently play:
Guildwars: Played from the very first beta, and I own all chapters. Not enough depth for me, but awesome pvp, skills, and community.
Oblivion for PC: deep storyline, no pvp, no community, to many cheats ruin the game for me. (The game comes close to realism in the sense that you can buy homes and such, but after you buy a home you kinda feel lonely since you cant share it with anyone or show it off to anyone. There needs to be a next step to creating a sense of family in the game.
Diablo2: wonderful for grinding, pvp is weak, no real community other than friends you make in the game, to many hacks and cheats ruin the game.
Rappelz: Just started to play this over the weekend with my 12year old son. Its a great game for grinding and seems like it will take even longer than diablo2 to reach high levels, okay community so far, weak storyline, no cheats or hack which is good, separate pvp server (havent tried it).
As you see, I like all these games at the moment, but they all lack something for me. So, again, is there another great game at the moment that you think "has it all". Please be serious and don't tell me to get a life or go outside, I have a family and a real life, but I like to play games to escape for a while.

Have you checked into the MMORPG based on the Star Wars universe. I forget the name right now but there I think you can have a job and own a store. I have not played it myself but it seems more like what you are looking for.

its called starwars: galaxies and i'll warn you now. I tried it, it SUX! its at least 5 years old, the lag is terrible, the mechanics are sub par, and you cant even talk to the nessecary npc most of the time.
i know, someone might come along saying that that wasn't a problem for them and the game looks cool later on, plus i tried it on a demo disk...

Nope, havent tried it. I have Starwars:Battlefront. I havent been a big fan of the Starwars games really. Too much lag ruins all the fun.
LOL, I need something more indepth like "Oblivion", but online so I can make friends at the same time. Then take it a step further with the ingame realism of having a home, family, marriage, parties, jobs.....etc. Then include the other perks of pvp, farming, raiding parties.....etc.
Hmmm.........I guess I'll have to wait.

Did you try World of Warcraft? I know there's a lot of grind to it, you can have jobs, and its community is fairly large. That's the only online game that I have heard is excellent other than Guild Wars, and only online games can offer you a never ending experience which I think is what you're searching for.

I cannot stand that game. I've tried it several times and always end up falling asleep on the keyboard. I hate the graphics, people dont really talk that much, the monster AI is freakin retarded, Guildwars pvp and skills are better imo, no voice acting. It lacks most of the things Im looking for except for the grind.
Anyone else try something better?

How about Neverwinter Nights 2? It has the latest version of the D&D system (which is what the majority of fantasy games are based around) so I don't think you can find anything "deeper" than that. It doesn't work on my computer so I can't really say anything more about it. Usually I like the reviews on Gamespot so here it is if you want to read more about it: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/never...ml?sid=6160878 (btw, don't be discouraged by the 8/10 score on Gameplay, they subtract a 1 out of 10 from the score when the game or expansion does not feel like a completely new game compared to its predecessor, Neverwinter Nights).

EVE Online
1. Some skills can take months to devolp. Game plays even when you are not online.
2. No levels in EVE. Grinding for money is a must because when you die you have to buy new ship etc.
3. Good community. Most are very helpful and there isn't a gread deal of kiddies playing.
4. Farming is a must. In EVE you can mine and sell or process the ore yourself.
5. Exspansive trade network.
6. No real storyline. Totally free to do as you please.
7. Contols take a bit of getting use to. The learning curve is quite steep. The tutorial takes a good 2-3hours...
8. Can't breed but you can build space stations and other stuff.
Give the free 10 day trial a go. Can D/L the trial from eveonline.com. 350mb D/L took me 30mins top.

1st option- WoW, awesome game, large community, grind, char development, farming, auction house, fun fun fun.
2nd option- Archlord no monthly fees, grind grind grind, can become the Archlord, which is basically getting to be king and getting a flying mount, armies, etc. Pretty new though so not a very big community.

You know that if you edit your post you have the option to delete that double post? I have no idea why people choose to ignore the fact that they have the power to delete there own posts.
