Guild Wars References In School
We've all had them. I know I have a billion times. Lets here some of yours, eh?
Heres one from today. I'm reading Gilgamesh in english class and Enkidu has a dream of the underworld. Immediatly I think of the outrageous ecto spike thats going to happen in a couple of weeks. Sometimes these side tracks can get you so off track when trying to pay attention in classes.
Anywho, does anyone else get this?

I've had some as well...
1. When discussing the early Russian empire, we found out about the Viking king Rurik. 'Nuff said.
2. There was an argument in my English class about how to pronounce "visage." Turns out it's "viz-ij" instead of "vi-sahzh". Needless to say...SV/AV
3. In my math class some guys was arguing how a z-axis couldn't exist on normal graph paper...I snickered as I thought "It can't exist at all..."
4. Not completely Guild Wars related, but in my History class we discussed the Hundred Years' War, which started in the year...you guessed it, 1337. W00t. No wonder that war is so leet...
I'll post more as I remember them.

I had to read a book for French (in guess what: French ):
I can't remember the name of the book, nor the writer right now (I'll edit it when It pops up); but it's about a guy that seems to realize that he had done stuff that he doesn't recall doing: for example, if he goes to sleep, and he wakes up 8 hours later, he would've already made coffee before he's actually gotten out of bed. (Not sure if it really happened in the book, but it's just to give an example of what stuff is happening).
So he's just wondering how come, in the beginning.
About halfway, he sees a magician, who hypnotized others: that guy named himself a Mesmer
From that point on, the protagonist thinks he's got a Mesmer chasing him, who's making him do things he doesn't want to/he isn't aware of, then clearing his mind.
And he's starting to go mad, from locking himself up in his room (doesn't help, the shadows are making him even more crazy), later on, setting his room on fire, thinking he had trapped the mesmer in his building.
And eventually he concludes that the Mesmer was in his head all the time, so he'd have to kill himself to lose the 'demon'. (You don't get to know if he actually does it, he solely shouts out the conclusion to himself in the very last sentence)
I actually enjoyed reading the book, since Mesmers rock

I was reading Crichton's Eaters of the Dead when I should have been taking notes, and I couldn't help daydreaming about if in fact the next installment is going to have a Nordic theme. Great book by the way.
