Greetings Tyrians, Canthans, and Elonians!

After the success of the first charity event hosted by The Vanguard of Asylum [ASY] back on October 17th, 2006 - we have opted to have a second event to provide weapons to newer players to better equip them for their adventures.

At our original event, we handed out over 250 green, gold, purple, and collector items of all reqs, gave away over 150k in gold as trivia prizes and a few ectos, shards, and other trinkets as well. For those of you who did attend the first giveaway, you may remember that we were more than disorganized and short staffed, but the two hour long gathering was quite nice and there weren't many rude players in attendance, just a few guilds trying to recruit since we had filled the entire Shing Jea Monastery International District 1.

We've upped the ante to say the least. We have, spread over 14 of my characters (which has cramped my style for picking up drops greatly) over 500 weapons, green, gold, purple, and max collector, however, this time, to help even more, we've made sure all our giveaway items are req9 or below.

We also will be handing out some minipets, ectos, and shards as prizes again for trivia, etc. And now that you're snoring I'll get to the important information.

The 5 W's of The Vanguard of Asylum [ASY] Charity Giveaway #2

Who: Level 12 and lower players
What: Giveaway of 500+ Req9 and below Core & Nightfall Class Weapons
Where: Sunspear Great Hall (International District 1)
When: Wednesday Feb. 14th, 2007 @ 9:00pm EST
Why: To help equip low-level players on their adventures.

Additional Notes
Note #1: We will be giving away all core class items as well as Paragon and Dervish items. There will be no Assassin or Ritualist items handed out.

Note #2: We were blessed last time that 99% of everyone was polite and kind to everyone else, should it not be that way, we will pack up and move to the Guild Hall and work on an invite basis only. It may take more time and require invite funding, but to help low-level and new players, we'll gladly sacrifice the funds and time. We've got plenty of both.

Note #3: Our membership recruiting and applications are closed at this time.

Note #4: Yes we know people will (try to) leech off of the charity event, and we ask you to not come trying to get items if you are "well off" (ie: have 15k, FoW armors, black/white dyed armor, high end weapons, etc), and we will be watching somewhat with who we're handing items too.

I'd like to thank everyone who showed up to make our 2nd Charity Giveaway a stellar success like the previous one. I'd also like to thank The Monastery Scribe for paying us a visit in the Sunspear Great Hall to check out the event.

Enjoy your items to those who snagged a few, and if you showed up after 10:30pm EST, I'm sorry but we had our reserves tapped by then, but I'm sure, we'll do this again in the future.
