That has to be the worst logic I've ever seen on these forums.

He was playing games for 7 straight days. The body can't handle that. It doesn't matter what he was playing.

Stop slamming WoW for no reason...

7 days straight, this guy is already fat and playing non-stop drain alot out of your body. His heart probably gave out at the end from lack of sleep.

How you could you do that? Seriously, I get bored after playing for an hour or so. After 2 hours or so my back starts to hurt and I go outside and play or something.

So what you're saying is that people in GW will die, just not as quickly?

While this may seem bad, it pales in comparison to the Lineage II player that hunted down and killed a fellow player due to a conflict in game. Moral of the story: MMOs will be downfall of civilization.

Very likely a WoW player...

Of the 8 million WoW subscribers, over 1/3 of them are from China.

Lol to that.

This is a pretty old article unless another person has died from playing video games. Games must be played and used to allow us to relax, enjoy, and take part in a world that never could exist. But anything can be taken to an extreme, WoW is not at fault, it really is the preson who does not see that we must put our efforts and talents to use in the real world rather then being chain in our fantasy world.

Now even I'm guilty of play several hours a day a when i first bought GW, once the game became more then something I played to relax it was, WRONG. It become a waste of time.

Games in of themselves are not a waste of time, for they do have some inherit goodness to them, but if we allow ourselves to become chained to them bad things will come of it, in the most extreme situations death.

Sorry, but if the lazy sod couldn't be bothered to move his fat arse from in front of the PC then the gene-pool is better off! I mean, just how sad do you have to be to sit there for that long and just croak?

Unless there's other mitigating circumstances, like a brain aneurysm or something, then there's no sympathy from me.

You know something, I notice China is quick to respond when it comes to outside media influence deaths from within their country. However when it comes to death by natural disasters they most of the time state it as a real low number.

Not defending the kid or anything, because you know we all should get out every once in awhile. Considering sitting in front of your computer will eventually get you killed (by set of particular circumstances); embrace the cool, green, crisp air.” <-----If you have it that is and is hopefully not polluted, with radiation.

He doesn't even have to be fat. That much stress on the body could kill just about anyone.

There are worse ways to die than from gaming.

He died doing...obviously what he liked doing so Amen. Now let the man rest.

Also we need to induct this man to the GHF (Gamers Hall of Fame). Cause I think he's set a record, and if not he's shown his love for games by giving his life for them...cheer this man.

Not quite as bad as the people vying for the darwin awards... but almost. Seriously, I'm not about to start feeling sorry for someone who died because they couldn't get off their fat ass when there's famines, epidemics, ethnic cleansing, kids being forced to work as soldiers, etc.

And I do quote from another WoW death.

"Did he drop any good loot?"

Is it just me that pays enough attention to the news to know that "7 days straight" doesnt necessarily mean 150+ hours in 7 days. I'm sure sitting around for a week didn't help him, but overweight people that lack physical activity have very poor vitals. It just seem that his living style killed him, not the video game, and its just the news looking for a badass story that will "relate" to many kids, because, well: video games are badass.

BTW, This is just my 2 cents on it. I don't want to start an arguement about validity of news.

By 7 days straight it most likely means that he did little else but play games. The game didn't kill him, however he did die doing it, so indirectly one could say that it led to his death. Not me though, if someone is stupid enough to play a game for that long ... well, I'm not saying he deserved to die, but it's not like it was unavoidable. I feel a darwin award coming on.

Eat when you hungry, sleep when you tried and stop the game when you feel like you're dying etc. It's call common sense, which this guy seem to be lacking.

I'm a graphic designer and my job made me sit infront of mac/pc for a really long time everyday at work. Then after work i came home and spent more time on my pc. I have yet to see any of my workmate drop dead at work (wish that guy from sell would do it).

Not to be cold or heartless in his dead, but come on! 7 days straight that seem like a suicide to me. What a waste.
