Well, I could spend 10 dollars, sneak into the movie like I always do, or download it, and charge friends 5 dollars to watch it at my house

I'm guessing he meant the "Available film quality"... there's a difference between a 12 year old with ADHD and a 6 pack of coke in his system with a 10 year old camera and a "Professional".

the telesynch kvcd release by TUS isn't too bad. I think it's one of the better ones out there actually.
possible spoilers (just to cover my own a$$)
The movie itself was fine, save for the sci-fi portrayals of certain characters. The ending was stupidly predictable, and at the same time dissapointing. I'd like to see what happened next. Unfortunately this doesn't seem like one of those movies to which they would make a sequel.
imo it doesn't even come close to Braveheart, which was actually on a tighter budget than 300...

When I first saw the previews for 300, I thought "This is either a video game with amazing graphics or a movie with a really screwy camera style." Obviously, it was the latter.
Have yet to see the movie, and I doubt I will unless I'm really bored one day. Movies where the core is just a bunch of mass fighting don't really entertain me.

The trailer looked promising (don't they always), but the movie itself was really disappointing. I wouldn't recommend it.

Of course the ending was predictable. It was a real battle, after all.
There were some things I didn't like a whole lot, like some of the scenes didn't really seem to fit. And the rampant use of man-thongs.

Its a great film, but still think few parts are missing.
The visual, the cinematography, and action are of couse speechless stunning. Few powerful lines in there as well, and the story is classic.
I think one of its weaker points is its pace. It just don't flow too well, especially with cutting in betwee the battle and whats happening at home. In some one, it got hurt in keeping too true to the comic, while in other, it got hurt by it (as the whole thing with the queen is not in the comic, and I think is unnecessary in the movie). Of couse they are filler parts, to make the film into a full length, but could really trim some fats.

The visuals are nice, but the movie doesn't bring anything new to the screen that wasn't in the book. It does, however, add plenty of weaker scenes, just as actionjack says. Worth watching, but nothing special.
Not sure why people are so deliriously joyful over it.
