Google Video/YouTube killed Quicktime.
Okay, so apologies in advance to any Mac user that may be offended here... but I'll preface by saying that I absolutely hate Quicktime - I had always hated it, even years ago when they had a literal monopoly on online movie trailers. And that doesn't even begin to go into the borderline viral behavior the Quicktime player exhibits on my system (Starting in the tray, even when I tell it not to in the options, commandeering file types against my will)
I'm a very system specific person when it comes to computers. I don't like to clutter my operating system with unnecessary movie players and background applications that slow things down. It always annoyed the crap out of me that I *had* to have Quicktime to watch trailers.
I guess now it pleases me so much that Quicktime has been de-throned as the quick and dirty source for trailers and movies. I can get literally ANY trailer/movie instantly with Google Video and YouTube.
The best day of my life was uninstalling Quicktime from my system. I'm finally FREE!
