Very sad indeed. Worst shooting EVER in US history, and thats not just schools.

What I dont get is why nothing more was done after the first shooting? An email?! Shouldn't something else be done to warn people to stay off campus? People dont check their email every 30 minutes, jesus...

33 dead including the Gunman. It is really sad. It is sad that no matter where we go that we know that someone with a gun can get to us and cause havoc. It is a horrible day, very saddening. I have a friend whose cousin was in the dorm where the first shooting occured. His cousin is okay, but to think that someone so close to us could lose a family member is disheartening.

On another rant, the shooter was called "evil". While i agree that what the shooter did was wrong on so many more levels then anyone can ever explain, i don't think they should of called him evil. The shooter has a mother out there already wondering what she did wrong and balling her eyes out let alone having to hear her kid being called evil. I realize that what he did is almost unforgivable but we shouldn't call him "evil" as it just stoops to his level.

Either way though what happened today is a very sad day for this nation... my hopes and prayers go out to all the families affected by this horrible shooting.

Man scary, I know a a few people who considered going to that College, but then decided upon a different one, thank god they did.

Seems to me to be that movies and other media are becoming more graphic and of a degenerate nature and violence is on the rise. Coincidence? I think not.

I wouldn't say crimes are on the rise, on the contrary. Checking up the internet shows quite a lot of graphs where crimerate has been going down ever since from 1993 (for violent ones) (source: Bureau of Justice). The percentage of young criminals also has reduced as well (and youth is quite possibly the largest group of "regular" gamers).

Media is just much more efficient in reporting crimes these days so it would seem there's more and more of bad things happening, and people usually remember the "good old days" as much better than they actually were.

It's just easier to (currently) blame it on Postal/Doom/Grand Theft Auto etc instead of looking for the real reasons. First people blamed demons, then drugs, Elvis Presley, Rock'n'roll, rap-music, etc etc.
