Lineage 2 new expansion, first official gameplay video
Are we allowed to post about other games in here? Here goes anyway.

I'm pretty excited about L2's new expansion, as it's one of their meatiest ones to date. It will offer a new race along with 3 new classes, fortresses which are basically mini-castles intended to be sieged by small casual clans and switch hands frequently, a new higher tier of equipment - but not a higher level cap, and possibly the biggest addition in areas so far. At the very end of the video there's also a glimpse of the new "minigame-land".
The new race is called kamael, and is a winged bird-people thing with some new mechanics. They do not wield off-hand weapons or shields as they use their left hand to siphon souls of the dead which they in turn use for speshal abilities. The 3 classes are a ranger wielding bow-guns (crossbows basically), a 2-handed sword fighter, and a mage.
They only start off with one wing, but get their second one once you "ascend". It's not a big mystery that grinding is probably involved. It's not confirmed if they can actually fly once they get two wings, although you can already fly in L2 using dragons so the mechanic is in there in terms of it even being possible.
The two dudes you see in the capes and big armors at the last part of the video is part of the new transformation system.
A few expansions ago they added "demonic" and "angelic" swords, which drop completely randomly and can only be wielded by one person on the server at any given time. The entire world will shake and glow red for a moment, your name will be changed, you can pk anyone without penalty, and the ones you pk will incur no loss. The sword can't be dropped, traded, unequipped, and so on. The only way to get rid of it is to die. If you die to a player, that player receives the swords. This causes them to gravitate towards the main alliances which is when they start playing a role in the wars.
When you now gain these swords, you will transform into the guys you see in that video. Obviously, your offense and defense will be through the roof when cursed with the swords.
The new race will also have an innate transformation ability, though it's not specifically known so far exactly what it does in terms of gameplay mechanics. Based on the video, people are speculating if a transformed kamael will be able to rival a cursed sword user.
