You should try to find a balance between GW and school. I'm sure many of us have this dilemma. What I tend to do is when I come back from school play for a while. I'll then do a bit of homework before and the rest after dinner. This gives me some time to relax in the evening.
During weekends it's never good to postpone homework to the very last minute, although I must admit I've done it far too often. Doing it on a Saturday afternoon is a possible solution, as it gives you the whole Sunday to do whatever you want.
Failing school is never good. If GW is making you fail school, there's obviously an issue here. If your workload during the week is too much to combine the two, I suggest don't play GW during the week and do your weekend's homework as early as possible, giving you more than enough time in the weekend. School > GW

If you're failing in school I suggest putting GW on hold until you get your grades up or you could do a reward system where if you pass a test, get all your homework done or what-not then reward yourself an hour or 2 to play GW. Nothing is more important then your education because GW won't benefit anything in RL.

I told myself this Fall semester that I'd pay more attention to school and get more school work done before playing any GW and it's worked fine although I don't really find any motivation to play GW anymore since I've found other things to do in RL that keep me busy and I'm pretty happy.

i still got a decent job .. mainly by luck ..but heh =D
