I'd return it. Check for cash first. Finder's fee...
Probably not the most moral thing to do though.

I'd return it, especially if there's a significant amount of money it in. Could be drug money or something (happened near where I live, don't doubt this statement!).

First I'd examine the wallet. If I know the owner, it gets returned intact. Otherwise I'll take the cash and pass the rest onto the police for them to deal with.

Keep the cash, toss the wallet.
I'd expect anyone to do the same with mine.

My friend once found two $20 bills on a train rolled up between the seat and the wall. He said it was probably drug money and wouldn't be surprised if there was a red targeting beam on his forehead. LOL

Check for ID. If any give it back, if none, leave it. Money and all.
'Has anyone found a wallet without any ID in it around here?'
'What does it look like..?' 'A Wallet.' 'Descriptive enough for me..?'

Could've been dirty secks money too. Some chick gave a hummer for that $40! I'd spend it and wash my hands FAST.

You can say GWO. It's ok. We sterilize this forum routinely so any cooties will be taken care of.

I'd return it with everything in it. You never know by giving it back with all of the money in it the person might give you a bigger reward lol.

To be completely fair, he didn't add all the periods after the words.
And both sites have their good and bad sides. I like 'em both.

I have handed a purse in to security before, they probably stole the money but getting ID again is a damn hassle so I would always return it. The guards were actually suggesting I keep it lol. Anyway remember what goes around.... And when you say you wouldn't lose it? One day when you're having a real hard day and have a million things on your mind you might understand how easy it is to lose a wallet. Just saying. Empathise.

I remember I found a dudes cell phone on my way home from a job interview. I remember seeing this guy hurrying out of the bus station and pasisng me but I never clued in it might be the guys phone. So I pick it up and plan to call someone on his address book to get in touch with whomever it is who owns it, but the phones locked. Now I'm sitting there thinking great, it's going to be forever until I can figure out how to get rid of this phone, and if I lef tit there it'd have been stolen or smashed when they found out it was locked.
Dude phones me and I'm all right out 'I have your phone, I live within 2 blocks of where it was found//lost. Where can I meet you to return it?' Bring him back his phone and he tries to pay me for bringing it back. I was seriously like 'man are you for real? You feel like you need to reward someone for doing the right thing, it should just be expected..'
Unfortunately, I guess it's not. =\
I got the job though! lol

heh at ZeRG!
Did actually find a wallet once. No idea where the police station in my town is tho. Looked in it, thought about taking it/taking the money, but don't think there was much in there, and I got nervous as lots of people walking around, so threw it down a hill that was conveniently right next to the pavement
