Actually the game is boring as hell, the requirement is insane, and the game is boring.

I'm sure the frustration about the high requirements turned you off rather than really sitting infront of it and playing it.
I don't really want to see the massive uproar about Crysis' requirements. While THEY are really insanse, it's totally justified.

I love Witcher tbh, been playing for sometime now. Good RPG's are hard to come by these days, sure games are pretty but lack of proper, engaging story & character turns me off.
Witcher has pretty much quality of Planescape, Baldur's & stuff what comes to the story, engine & interface are bit clumsy but that doesn't bother someone who's been playing RPG's since Amiga 500 times.

While it doesn't come close the touching Mask of the Betrayer, it is nonetheless pretty fun. My only complaint is optimization - I do not believe the graphics quality of it is high enough for the system requirements to make sense.

It's also pretty optimized. On a slightly lower-end graphics card it can still look good and have a nice and playable framerate.

Buy the EUROPEAN english version, which has not been censored.
"...: o how so, like how is it not censored?..."
Yup I am french & live in Europe, so all the european versions are uncensored. On the french video game packaging appears the mention forbidden under 18 & if you go to The Witcher official website you are obliged to enter your age with MM+DD+YYYY allowing you to access the site.
The US version has been censored = the language has been modified in a more "politicaly correct" way...you understand what I mean and the nudity (different foes especially VAMPIRES lol are naked women + the female elves who are hero's allies) has been hidden/dressed up or something like this (I didnt see the US version). Another aspect which has been censored is when you "spend time" with a prostitute or a "regular/every day" woman (Geralt the hero is a real seducer lol) you receive a very very very nice card of a naked woman in various situations ("Années folles" or "the thirties" style) as REWARD. Please note that all that aspect is not PORNOGRAPHY at all....only a soft erotic TOUCH.....

"...The Witcher is our debut. I promise that we won’t rest on our laurels. I believe that The Witcher is just the beginning of CD Projekt making the highest quality games — games with soul and made with passion, games which are not only the result of market analysis and large marketing budgets. ..."
Here are the devs who supersede Bethesda....who sold his soul by developping OBLIVION for console first.....& secondary/eventually for PC. Thats why I uninstalled Oblivion one month after its release. I spent hundreds of hours on Morrowind.......
I am not the kind of guy to spam & advertise all day long as a maniac My goal is just to share the happiness I feel while playing...Imho The Witcher is a real creative + innovative game = the best RPG ever made on EARTH. A dream which becomes true/real & so immersive you wont believe it till you play it

The Most Significant Game Since Fallout
http://www.rpgwatch.com/show/article...71&ref=0&id=66
".....This is largely due to the state of the industry: technological evolution is so quick that most of the creative effort in game making goes into making those pretty lights, with comparatively little thought given to what the game is "about." If a game manages to hijack your dopamine reward system, it's a success. You know that's happened if you suddenly notice it's 4:30 am and you're still playing "just one more level."..."
"...However, The Witcher is not like most other games. It is "about" something. Game reviewers simply aren't capable of fitting this fact into their conceptual review-writing framework, which leaves them handing out not-really-that-great grades... but with many of them nevertheless saying they liked the damn thing, without being able to say why; sometimes slapping an Editor's Choice onto it for good measure. That's because they'd really need to write two reviews -- the game review and the book review -- but they only have the capability to do one. Poor gaming journalists..."
"...The Witcher's significance lies in its priorities. It is the first computer game I have ever played where the mechanics are made to serve the story, without feeling neglected. They very, very rarely require an extra effort in willing suspension of disbelief, nor do they feel like they were put in just because they were fun rather than because they served some distinct purpose in actualising what the game is "about". In this, I believe The Witcher represents the future of gaming far more than - to pick a name at random - Oblivion..."
"...This is a game that will have players rewriting their Top Ten lists and seems destined to become a benchmark classic in the role playing genre, but when looking at a Baldur's Gate style RPG template, it seems the antithesis of a normal approach..."
"...but I think Prime Junta nails it when he talks about CD Projekt Red winding an intensely personal story around the player. Isn't that at the heart of roleplaying?..."
"...If there is a moral to The Witcher's story, it is that in the real world there are rarely simple solutions to complex problems, the most terrible evil is done in the name of the greater good, and much of the time the best you can hope for is to pick the lesser evil and hope for the best..."

He probably does. Who knows. Finished the game 2 weeks ago and it's one of the better rpgs this year. V1.2 patch just released today and a lot of people said it decreases the load times big time!

Nice enthusiasm for the game Zorgy (are you sure you dont work for the game's dev?), but I've spent too much on holiday presents, i'll just stick to CoD4 and GW.
