It depends :
Scenario 1
-If I can't take care of the kid
-If it's a good person that will take care of the baby
Then yes, it will be better for the kid (some people may not understand but the kid will be better is it can live a good plus he won't know that someone "gave" him away).
Scenario 2
-I can take care of the kid
-The person is a pedophile
-The person is an ass-h***
Then no, and even I if couldn't take care of the kid, I'd prefer to keep him than to give him to a bad person.
@Toxage : are you the same guy that ask if someone will name their kid Adolf Hitler for money ?

Let's say the offer is made to a female... so basically, men can have babies now? Is that what you're getting at, or do you think that only men are worthy enough to be granted your attention?

It depends on what the mysterious stranger had planned for the baby.
If the intention was to bring the baby up to be a general in an army that will eventually take over and threaten to kill me if I don't conform...then yes.
It'll make for good drama.

Your scenario depends on the idea "You have no attachment to the baby, you haven't spent anytime with it."
As a woman, I had an extreme bond and love for my son long before his birth. I loved being pregnant, never felt better or was happier. I felt him move, and yes both me and his father talked to him "in belly". Even when I was alone I wasn't, because I was thinking about my alien invader lol. Cheesy yes...but very true.
No, there is no way I'd have sold him. Ever. I'm sure his dad feels the same way. I don't see how anyone who has had one could.
NO you can't just "have another" So nonchalant about bringing a person into the world.

I wouldn't. No matter what you have an attachment to the baby because the kid's YOURS.

There are more than enough babies to buy in the world.
He doesn't have to buy ours if he's a trillionaire.
Also, it doesn't cost nearly that much to adopt in the first place.
(You're over-estimating the value of human life just a tad.) If he was able to produce 3 trillion dollars, he could very easily afford proper adoption.
As for the 'If I can't take care of the kid' scenarios? Abortion. Straight up.
Better still, don't be an idiot and get knocked up in the first place. Use a condom even if you or your partner is using the pill. (And even then, pull out.) That is if you absolutely HAVE to f*ck in the first place.
It's not that bloody hard.

Yes, I'd do it.
I would then use some of that immense sum of cash to hire the very best hitmen to take him out and recover the child.
Problem solved.

I'd bet that everyone who said that they would sell their child, is an immature teenage male - one who thinks that women are nothing more than objects to serve and please them. I wish all of you good luck in getting girlfriends who don't dump you after a day.
My answer stands as "No, a human life can't be bought or sold."

Different guy
And I don't think I could do it, even as a guy. I've seen a few couples and how they act when the woman is pregnant and they are usually incredibly absorbed (at least the mother is) in the child. Once the baby starts moving in the womb, the mother and father will talk to it through the womb, sometimes mothers will put headphones on their tummy once the baby can respond to music (my mom did that with me, it's why I love Metallica so much ). Plus that kid will eventually find out their parents sold him/her and they'll feel unwanted and overall like crap.
And by the way, I am a teenage male and even if it was out of wedlock, I would STILL want the baby.

I'll give you a short story : Aux Champs written by Guy de Maupassant (a french guy) :
One day, a rich woman was driving along the road with her husband and she saw 8 little kids from poor families. She got out of her car and went to hug the youngest one. Afterwards she kept coming day after day, she met the parents of the 8 kids ( 4 kids were from family A and the 4 other from family B).
One day the woman asked the mother of family A if she was willing to "sell" her the youngest kid because the rich woman wasn't able to have kids. The rich woman told the poor mother that at 18 the kid would have to possibility to come back to see his parents if he wanted to, she even proposed money. But the mother said no.
So the rich couple went to see family B and after some arrangements, the parents accepted that the couple will take away one of their child.
For 17 years, mother A kept insulting family B. But family B was living a good life because of the money they got.
As the young child of family A was turning 18, the family B's child came back, all rich and high-class. Her mother was happy to see her child and he was happy to see the village of her parents.
That night the family A's child shouted at his parents for not giving him away because it was his chance to live a better life. After that, the kid ran away from home.

You take yourself far too seriously. And for the record, I am not an "immature teenage male who needs luck to find a girlfriend who won't dump me after one day". In fact, why would you even say that? Do you think that your post will make me feel bad about my life situation? What are you trying to achieve by saying that?
Anyone that has half a brain would agree that rationally, one should sell his/her baby for 3 trillion dollars. What's a baby worth? Nothing. They have no education, they don't produce anything, don't generate money, they are useless. Of course, as they grow up, things change, but we're talking about babies here.
Let's take a different approach here: imagine yourself, your wife and your baby, and you are a hunter living in the Arctic. The food is limited, and the season's been so bad that you do not have enough food for everyone. You can't "eat less" because there's so little food that you will starve if you do. Someone has to die. Will it be you? If you, the hunter, dies, both your wife and baby will die too as there'll be no more food income. If your wife sacrifices herself, the baby will die as well since you cannot hunt AND take care of him. And finally, if you still don't want to let the baby die, all three will die from starvation. However, if you let the baby die, you can survive until later when the hunt will be better and have another baby.
That was an extreme case, though, as in our current situation (guy offers 3 trillion for baby), there is no loss if you do not accept the trade. Think about it though. You can have other babies, and if you accept to lose this one, you can have other ones that could receive the best education, best medication, best alimentation, best of everything, and you would never be in need of money anymore.
Yes, a human life can be bought or sold, and that has been happening forever with slaves. It all depends on the culture, the needs, and the moral of one.

I say we find this mysterious rich stranger and report them after we steal their monies and divide it amongst us.
Then we'll have the money to buy babies, plus we'll have our babies. We'll take over the market.
