Battle 360
Anyone else been watching this one? I know some people might dislike it because it focuses solely on the american perspective, but I think it's a novel idea that the History channel is telling the story of WWII through the eyes of one of the ships that was there from the beginning (okay maybe they got a little financial bonus from their sponsor for using that particular vessal).
That aside, I think it's very cool to learn how that ship was so intertwined with most of the important events in the first year of the pacific war. Take Midway for example. If a number of different things didn't happen to set it up (the sub, the destroyer, the leader in a hurry, and the ill-fated torpedo planes) that moment would have been for naught. I know the US had an intelligence advantage but the luck of the timing on that one air strike was almost impossible.
