Hi SOGWTT members and non-SOGWTT guru-ers,

What about petitioning for a GW2 forum on GWG? That would satisfy both sides of the argument, wouldn't it?

There is no real point for a GW2 section at this time. All it would be filled with is useless trash. Until there is more offical info from ANet theres nothing to really be discussed anywhere except for the little information that has already been given to us. Anything else is just meh.

I'm still neutral on this matter cuz I barely go to riverside as it is. Too much bad.

Threads about what people would like to see in GW2 = usually ok.

Threads asking what will be in GW2 = not ok.
Threads suggesting what should be in GW2 = not ok.

most of the stuff in Off-Topic is trash... maybe put a side forum into it?
some of the stuff in Riverside is trash, too.

Imho.... trash threads are ones that people +1 farm in. seems to be a lot of them lately. (yes, I know Off-topic does not add to post count).

If you think a thread should be closed/deleted, report it, then leave it to the moderators to decide its fate. Posting your 'opposition' honestly won't achieve anything, and as Arkantos said, borders on trolling - it could provoke arguments with people who want to discuss GW2. There's too much spamming going on in threads before closure as is, and this thread seems to be just encouraging more of that.

Why would we want to be discussing our opinions about the future of GW2 while the developers are still working on it?

Much better to wait until it's all finished and then QQ when it's too late for the devs to make an easy change.

Also, by creating this-bores-me, troll posts to intimidate people from "speculating", we will leave space for the much more useful topics normally populating Riverside. Threads such as....

"What was the sickest you ever were when playing Guild Wars?"
"Do you invent funny back stories for your characters?"
"What was the third profession you made and why?"
"What's your favorite shrubbery in the game?"
"What's the most amusing mis-spelled character name you ever saw?"

By all means, let's stop giving our views on the future of the game.

Well said. There are some far more useless threads in Riverside that could be whined about. Threads asking for information when there isn't any of course need to be locked, but those in which people give opinions and/or expectations of Guild Wars 2 could be valuable to ANet, especially in the earlier stages of development.

Don't you think they're past this stage already? It's been a year that GW2 was officially announced and more than 6 months that EotN is out. I'm sure that Anet welcomes any interested idea, but I'm wondering how usefull (or useless) speculation is. On the one hand, some people have great ideas and it'd be bad to stop that. On the other hand, you've all sorts of stupid speculation that furthermore creates expectations, meaning people will get disappointed as there could be a great distance between what was said and what will be released.

I think GWG should focus entirely on GW and have a GW2 subforum, with the GW2 suggestion thread in it. Let's not create more tension and you guys could simply eliminate the problem by avoiding that the path of SOGWTT (so to say) and others.

Of course, you decide what's GWG editorial line, but it seems to me that there's no point in mixing the GW and GW2 topics.
