Mayan calendar is more accurate than the one we use today. Necrodervus smoked too much and documented dates that don't make any sense. At least we can confirm that the date Mayans indicated has some significance. All Necrodervus predictions are retrospective.

If the mayans were such great predictors, wouldn't they have saw what exactly was going to destroy their civilization and make a rather clear and obvious note about it for future generations?

Watch how as Dec 21, 2012 gets closer, more and more people talk about it, and then after nothing happened, companies will start selling "I survived 2012" t-shirts and make money off that (well, off the idiots buying them).

First of all : History channel is not a good source of information... (so is geography but that's another stroy). Have any of you guys watched Jesus, the man, [i]10000 B.C.[i/] and/or 300, the real story? If you haven't, don't...
As for 9/11, Nostradamus didn't predict that, it was just a bunch of people that created those rumors...and if you saw a lot of rumors made by him, you could see that they are false (they are made with 'new language' instead of old French). Guess the real one...
In the City of God there will be a great thunder,
Two brothers torn apart by Chaos,
while the fortress endures,
the great leader will succumb,
The third big war will begin when the big city is burning
Five and forty degrees, the sky shall burn:
To great ‘New City’ shall the fire draw nigh.
With vehemence the flames shall spread and churn
When with the Normans they conclusions try.
Real French version (now most of those words aren't written like that and it doesn't refers to N.Y., or even the US) :
Cinq & quarante degrés ciel bruslera,
Feu approucher de la grand cité neufve,
Instant grand flamme esparse saultera,
Quant on voudra des Normans faire preuve:

Some say that they did predict the collapse:
There is trouble in the land once again.
This Katun brings drought and famine.
It is a time of a foreign occupation, change, and sadness
Just like Necrodervus, Maya were somewhat ambiguous in their predictions. We do have to give them credit for identifying an important date. On December 21, 2012 the Sun will be aligned with the center of our galaxy, this event happens only once approximately every 26000 years. On the same date the Earth will complete its precession. It is very rare for such a combination of events to occur and quite remarkable that Maya noted this date. However, it is important to keep in mind that the exact date estimation will vary depending on your definitions. Most scientist would give you a range instead of an exact date of this occurrence: 1980-2018.

Didn't the Mayans believe that the Sun was in it's fourth incarnation.
So maybe they thought every quarter of a millennium something really, really big happens.
I predict in the next cycle of our galaxy we will become delirious.

yes we are entering into the 5th (and probably final) incarnation (some call it root race)....with the dawning of the age of aquarius (the astrological one, not the song--).....and such....well that whole thing would take up another page or 14 and I know pwnd doesnt like it when I type too much sooooo...
Its only a few years away so we can just wait and see what happens (or doesnt happen.....)
hey wasnt the UNIX reset thingy supposed to happen soon?

What exactly is root race?
I've searched and so far can't understand it. All I found was dream analysis and group consciousness stuff.
BTW, I dream a lot about having to take an overwhelming number of things and perform some minial task on them, then sort them. It's a nightmare. At times I think it's as though I can understand how autistic people can feel. The never ending sorting of things.
Also, I've had two lucid dreams and both of them involved scrutiny of the dream. I knew I was dreaming, yet did not even bother to do whatever I could imagine. Simply just tested how real it could be made.
Curiously both lucid dreams started, with sound within the dream snapping me into realizing it was only a dream. Such as really loud music everywhere at 3am.

The doomsday predicted is the Pluto's Kiss computer virus that will shut down the Internet access on all computers and nearly causes a nuclear catastrophe by activating the United States' nuclear defense and automated counter-strike systems.
The disasters that follow are Microsoft and Apple going bankrupt and a new master OSX be created that will be virus free and (with an awesome new MMORPG) regained access to the internet.
I can't wait!
