To me it seems like the creators have done it on purpose to draw a lot of attention, hoping that people would buy it even when they know the game sucks donkeyballs. I mean, they did it all at home, what other goal could they have?

The saddest part of the thread isn't that someone ripped someone else off, but that he did a bad job with the game and is managing to get free publicity from it.
