Ohh I loved pitfall! Great memories. I just beat it last year for the first time. I never got around to beating it back in the day when it first came out.

One of my favorite old computer games is "Red Storm Rising" on my Commodore 64. I played that all night chasing down Russian subs and surface ships with that sub simulation game.

Ah....REAL games
Started out with Axis and Allies (original version, was updated in late 90's), then moved to playing A&A via AOL 4.0 email (have board set up, email 'orders' to Game Master and opponent, receive dice roll results, wait for opponents 'orders')
I guess my first REAL computer game was WarCraft II. I remember seeing it run as a demo in Staples when I bought my first comp (486 Compaq, Pentium Overdrive Chip Upgradeable!)
*sigh* console-wise: I was one of the lucky kids that got an Atari 5200 for Xmas one year. Everything from the arcade in actual size/game play.
Speaking of...I used to spend $20 at the laundry mat playing 'R-Type' and another $5 on the laundry
Can't wait to see GW4!
system requirements:
2.5 Terahertz processor
64 Tb RAM
VeRt Holographic I/O package
Direct Neural Wetware 10/100/1000 connection

i believe my first was a game called king's castle (much like a pong) but you had to stop the ball from hitting your castle. Can't quite remember the computer platform but the game was a cartridge and you had to hook it up to your tv.
then there was King's Quest the original ... played that at my friends house all the time. And a host of Atari games from my older brother ... including space invader (i think we had 3 copies for when i broke), there was another game in a space ship where you would shoot things moving forward and each level your ship moved faster. Cant quite remember the title though.
EDIT ... I had to throw this one in ... one of my first nintendo games was blads of steel ... ahhh the first time fights were introduced to nintendo hockey.
Donkey Kong Country 2 was on the super nintendo ... I believe. Same console as Mario 3 ... and to this day i still have the original mario music (the swimming levels and underneath in the sewer) in my head. Ahh that game with the boss was the same every level.
