I don't want a little gay person in cloth running around playing a freaking harp and singing tales of heroes...It just doesn't fit the style of Guild Wars. Take your Final Fantasy ideas elsewhere.

I never thought of Paras as being at all Bard-ish. Yes, they use "arias" etc, but that's where the similarity ends.
They're angelic spear chuckers who shout at the party, not minstrels who entertain in taverns or tell legendary tales.
They don't look like Bards, act like bards or play instruments of any kind....so how are they related again? A type of skill having a musical name is a bit of a stretch ...

As much as I hate to say it, I don't think paragons will appear in GW2. Given that the focus is allegedly shifting to solo or 1+1 gameplay, defensive- and support-oriented characters are likely to disappear.

Here on the Internet we call that epic failure.

That sucks; hero/hench was one of the main Gw appeals. Though given everything else planned for Gw2 I suppose I should not be surprised.

They could. They are already going to scale power of you and a companion hero thingie, so that if you take him he gets some of your power or something like that...
So the buffs the paragon gives could be ranged on power depending on the amount of recipients. So he could either give ok buffs to a group of people or great buffs to just himself, as long as its not overpowered.

Well every time someone makes a concept class like a bard, they always get responses like "We already have that, Its called a paragon" since the battle style would be the same.

I kinda agree make a bard class and split the derv with the rest of the classes. spears are a Warrior thing and should get them but, I think they need to scratch all of the Classes and make 10 new ones (with basics in mind I know they cant scrach the 6 (monk, warrior, ranger, caster, elementalist, necro) MMO Basics but they can make them uniqe to only Guild Wars.

Hmm...
Both are singers, dress like ladies...It's a tough call.
I would, however, like to be able to "rawk ote" when the masses demanded it. Bard please.

This is so true. Bards do NOT fit GW style at all.
I do not want some final fantasy rub on my GW, thank you. We have to deal we enough animefags as it is on the internet.

It be cool if it was ragnarok style....because the music on some of those skills was cool.
However nah.
Just make the paragon's songs actually play kick ass music in battle >.>

Noooo ! XD I so absolutely love the character design of them Ritualists XD
I'd love them to change the design on certain things though ( spirits f.ex.)
As far as paragons and bards are concerned Hmmm... I can only say that I would miss the para's mini skirts XD
I suppose both could be used too? Like a certain race could be a para while the other one a variation wich would be a bard :P

And when they use shouts make them actually ramble and scream at people etc ? XD
Like the ritualist though I think the para could use a lifting in it's skill design.

Aye. One of the hardest to level, but coolest class ever. But, just like Paragon, it has great aoe support skills. Almost every guild has one for the guild battles.
And they are almost identical, anyway. One sings, the other one sings. One supports team, the other one supports too. One has small damaging capabilities (in all games where Bard is - Ragnarok Online, Neverwinter Nights...), the other one... A bit bigger, but yeah. And usually both stay at the backline.
