Yah, it's true for the limited ed. but doesn't happen to everyone.
If you do end up with a scratched disc for halo3 they have a free replacement for it till the end of dec.
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/sy...nt-program.htm
you'll just have to wait a minimum of 2 weeks
I sure hope mine isn't scratched... I have to wait for shipping

2 of my friends were able to exchange it right there in the store because they checked it while in the store. Those were the only 2 friends of mine who got the Collector's edition and both of them had it scratched. Poor packing ftl...

Unlike Halo 2 the new weapons are actually balanced and most of them pretty cool and the new vehicles are an absoloute blast to use, particularly the Mongoose and the Chopper.
Haven't done much multiplayer yet, but the new ranking system looks great and the Forge mode is a lot of fun. Me and a friend were playing around with one of the maps, and basically just placed a whole bunch of Grav Lifts everywhere and then proceded to drive around randomly in Mongooses to see who could land ontop of the highest building. And the fact it automatically records all of this is just fantastic. Too bad there's no way to edit the clips together.
If you say this game sucks, then you're either a fanboy or just haven't played it. And honestly, you don't want to miss out on this because of some silly kind of personal bias. This is seriously one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had.

I've been playing it as well. So far, so good. The level designs are very well done, much better then the previous 2 games. I am still a bit...upset about the graphical quality. It is good, but it isn't Halo3 advertising worthy. I really expected a bit more from Bungie in that department. As for being one of the best gaming experiences ever, totally disagree. It is good, but it isn't earth shattered. I had a lot more fun playing through Bioshock (and I originally rented that for 360, not PC) It is Halo, not Half Life 2. I take it with a grain of salt. Waiting to see the story line evolve and conclude this series. Now to wait for Crysis, Killzone2, FFXIII, Mass Effect, and finally, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (and if Star Wars isn't good, I am going to have to kill myself)

I beat it. Grant it was on easy but I just wanted to go through and see the story so I didn't rush and it wasn't a strain. Awesome game. Apparently though a floor at my college has already beat it on Legendary. oO Great game though.
EDIT: Go see Halo 3 graphics on an HDTV. Then you will see just how amazing they are.

Halo 3 graphics, HDTV?
Crysis dominates Halo 3, no question.

LOL, if only I had my digital camera handy, I would show you my entertainment center.
I am running Halo3 at max, on my Samsung 4065. 40 inches of 1080p 15,000:1 contrast ratio goodness. THe graphics are less then impressive when compared to current 360/PS3 stuff. This is the type of stuff we saw with the 6800GTs and Ultras. I want more pretty, tyvm.
*waits for Crysis and Haze*
Allow me to show you what GOOD graphics on console look like.
And Crysis makes that look bad... sooo, Halo3 could look 400x better then it does. It doesn't make it a bad game...just less then it should have been.

Crysis is based on a more realistic game then Halo. IMO it is easier to make a game look better when it is based off a part of reality then a sci-fi world. But that is just my opinoin. (FYI: Actual guns, models of real people, uniforms, etc.)

Halo lacks dynamic sprites, it lacks high density texturing, it lacks high poly modeling with drastic high and low gamuts. Framerate drops were evident when I played Halo3 today. It started to chug a lot during certain points, and overall, the framerate was rather dismal. I mean, granted, the 360 doesn't have enough power to run raytracing designs, but still, they could have pushed the limits a bit more. The graphical code is poorly executed, and the graphics are subpar with other 360 games (Gears of War???) And while, yes, Gears of War was simply a low density texture horror (i cant use the actual word apparently), that doesn't mean Halo3 couldn't do the same thing. I would have been happier if they would have stacked 10-20 low density textures and overused HDR lighting effects. The sprite count in Halo3 is the worst... it is not much better then Halo1 and 2... now please...

The only time my Halo 3 ever chugged was when I hit a loading point, otherwise it ran smooth. Also graphics can be a personal opinion. The detail of the small things in Halo is a heck of a lot better then in Halo 2 or 1. I personally like them alot, I realize they are not the best graphics ever but I like them the way they are. I also do love Gears of Wars graphics, and I do admit that those are just amazing graphics, better then Halo's for sure. But even still Halo surpasses some games but also is worse then some. I don't think they were going to try to make the best looking game out there, I think they focused a bit more on content and story. The graphics are still a step up.

I personally like them. More like other FPS's that I play. Made the switch from Gears and Vegas to Halo so much easier.

Campaign = meh
Storyline = disappointing
Multi player is the only thing that ever really make me like Halo.

I would hope they would be better then Halo 1 and 2... this is "next gen" But, Gears of War is as good as it is going to get for the 360. They maxed the console out, it cannot be pushed further. Time to let the Sony game developers take the lime light now and perhaps use more then 30% of the PS3's power?
Halo3 was decent, I beat it today. It was decent, 6/10 from me. Nothing spectacular, nothing super flashy, and XBOX Live is being retarded right now... so many errors and disconnects because of all these morons on Halo3 multiplayer!!!! I can't even download game demos nor play Halo3. Hmmpf. This isn't Halo3's fault, this is Microsoft's crappy online service they make people pay for!!!!! GRRRRRRR /endrant
So, I decided to sit down and finish Heavenly Sword tonight. It was short, but was one of THE MOST SATISFYING GAMES that my 40" Samsung has had the pleasure of displaying in a longtime. Beautiful graphics, great storyline, best voice acting/facial animations ever seen, and fluid controls with only minor framerate drops (to be expected with over 2,000 enemies on the screen). Heavenly Sword = 9/10 (the 1 point missing because of framerate drops)

The hype is really overdone. I didn't reserve it (mainly because I forgot) and people laughed at me when I said I was going to pick it up without reserving it, saying I'd never find one. K-Mart had at least 10 copies of the collector's edition and even more regular ones.
Unfortunately I didn't get to play it (damn homework), but I'll give it a whirl later today.

I know, I went into Best Buy a few times and everytime I went near the 360 section, some employee said "HEY HEY! Want to preorder TeH HaLo Threeee??!, it are so cOoL!" I wanted to pimp slap them, but rather I just said "no, bug off" One of them said I was silly not to when I said I would just pick it up at around noon on the 25th. Said they would sell out in 5 mins... Went in at around noon, shelves full of them. The guy was standing there. I wanted to walk up and punch him in face with the game case saying "Hmm, what is that mark on your face? Oh, Halo3 in stock"

Heavenly Sword was one of the lamest games I've seen in awhile. Myself and several friends played it, one of which beat it in a few hours. Stupid annoying characters, drawn out fight sequences (zomg another arena, 4 people at a time, now 5, now 4, hit those buttons fast!), etc etc. Had a few decent moments, but mostly we were annoyed with it. I was more entertained by Halo 3. Maybe the graphics were not as flashy, but: game play >>>>>>> eye candy imo.
