APM among pro's varies immensely and isn't linked to success. Kang Min and Ma Jae Yoon had APM near or below 200, while Lee Jae Dong and Lee Yun Yeol often average above 400. It's not an effective measurement as some players spam more than others, inflating APM. There's another tally known as EAPM (effective APM) that tries to take spam into account, but that's not a purely objective scale.

Agree. I would say - APM mean almost nothing. Bad player might have 80 APM, but other bad player might have even 300-500 APM. Doesn't mean he uses them right.
But also, on the other hand, a good player may have 400 APM, but even better player might have APM of 50. Because if someone is really good, he won't need to make those extra actions.
Btw, is there a way to test my own APM for a RPG or FPS game?

APM means a little bit. If it's not pure hotkey spam on the same target, it can imply a higher degree of mechanical control. Typically Protoss have lower APM simply because as a race it's less complicated to control (A-click for victory!). Zerg (mass hatcheries, multiple control groups) and Terran (mnm micro, vulture micro, etc) take a bit more, and without at least a decent APM a player won't be getting the most out of their buildings and units.
I only know about programs like bwchart for tracking APM in SC.

Starcraft is made by the makers of Warcraft, blizzard, which was started around 17 years ago or so (i think its more) I believe that it was made in 1991??? Not too sure, but its an oldie, but still supposed to be very good. Ive never played it but its supposed to be true genius. They are making a newer one now Starcraft 2 soon.

QFT. Besides, if you click and annoy your units too much, they'll start throwing rude comments at you.
