(About no updated editions of planescape sourcebooks ... would it really have any point? They are about settings, good DM should be able to use material from sourcebook for different gaming rules without any trouble... Or are kids nowadays so unimaginative that they need every last stat set in stone and sanctioned by authority before playing?)

Basically this but for some reason I don't think Winterclaw understands this concept of Dungeons and Dragons.
There is no "real" need to produce new material for it Winterclaw. Mostly because of how the Planescape world works. You have the sourcebooks, which covers the rules. There are no new rules, because it's AD&D and always will be. All extra books do is give unimaginative/bad DMs new material, however Planescape has the portal system (anything can be a portal to anywhere), and as such there is no need for new material! Make up a portal! Make up a place!
I don't care if it is you rubbed a chick's right breast the wrong way and got sent to the 15th level of an apartment infested with demons, come up with something.

That sounds as bad as hollywood. Still, if you can find a way to work out the economics which interplay/bi couldn't, you can't stay in business.

It's actually a worse % than Hollywood.

Bioware is better at DnD games.

Bioware is better at making standard DnD games. BIS is better at taking D&D and making the other stuff with it (like Planescape), and hitting the main points of what D&D is truly about (the story, and hence hits what RPGs are about)

FFVII had it's flaws as well, and I perfer FFX, but it was better than PS:T and had better characters. Anyways, I have my doubts about people who get a degree in literature because all of them like shakespeare.

You're killing me here. Yes, Tidus was totally the deepest character ever, and can't lay a hand on The Nameless One. The only deepness stupid Tidus ever got was when he found out he was a Fayth. That's it. And that was near the end of the story. Same for Auron. The characters in FFX never even change except possibly towards the end (Wakka and Lulu havin' babies ^_^, Yuna falling in love for Tidus officially ^_^, etc...). jRPGs are reknown for having bad storylines, and it sounds like you just like them because you like fantasy-esque stories, rather than the tangent that you truly believe they are genuinely good literary stories.
Case and point:

Ziggy had issues. Momo and junior did to a lesser degree. That one military guy was pretty messed up. I'd say some of the characters had personalities and those probably would have gotten farther if all 6 games could have been made.

One guy had issues. Two characters did to a pretty damn lesser degree. "That one military guy". I'd say that it doesn't take 6 games to develop your characters unless if they are bad characters, and I'd be right because the tower of skulls you encounter in Planescape has more depth than all the characters in Xenosaga combined, and it's a freaking tower of talking skulls! Nothing in history that has ever been of any literary worth has ever taken so long to develop characters. In fact, they all develop within the first thing. And rarely make a sequel. Why? Because the viewpoint that you need to have sequel to be great, is truly wrong and very bad for the industry (or any industry).
Do you think To Kill a Mockingbird, or Schindler's List are not great, because they did not have sequels? And you better not say that they are not great, considering both of those thing's material's, what they are discussing, the many many many many many many awards both received, etc. Is Romeo and Juliet any less of a classic masterpiece, simply because it does not have a sequel? No. It isn't. Some things aren't meant to have sequels, and yes, anything related to the Planescape: Torment game at all, would ruin it. But you'd have to understand the game at its core, philosophic level, to understand why, something you don't seem very interested in doing, instead focused on just seeing everything at "face value". It's a thinking game, instead of being an action game with anime-esque characters and stats out the butt covering your screen. If you say yes, they are great, then I would ask of you to not hold the videogame as a medium so low beyond it's other mediums.
It isn't fantasy, it isn't meant to have a sequel or trilogy (this is probably why they only got the rights to do 1 game.), it's meant to be a deep philosophical piece of literary genius that takes the best part of a book, with the best parts of a videogame. It just seems the point of it all is lost on you, or that you rushed through it without caring in the first place.
This is also the last time I'm replying to you, because you keep bringing up random stuff not related to the game at all (jRPGs mostly, bioware, etc.) that you seem to know I'm going to bite because I hate idiocy/uneducated posts/misinformed posts/etc. No one here cares about Final Fantasy or whatever dude, it's for Planescape. If you want a Final Fantasy topic go make one, but I'll proceed to go into it and not talk about how uber and better Planescape is because that's sorta what you don't do in a topic created for a specific video game. Is not talk about how AWSMM other ones are, especially when you know I'll help you derail it a bit by replying. If you're going to post, you should make sure your posts are related to the game. ^_^)
