I really can't stand California "Ok guiz, I'll just pay twice as much for housing as in the Midwest and pay $5/gallon for milk just to say I live within 500 miles of all the celebrities. It's also fracking hot as shit year round."

Umm everything you said is wrong. A gallon is milk is like $2, and it's not hot year round, it actually rains most of winter, other then winter, the average temp is like mid 70s...not hot. Although, if you don't live along the coast, or somewhere close to it, it's pretty much desert.

I vacationed in LA 3 years ago and milk was $4/gallon, and to me, mid 70s is brutal. I'm in Wisconsin, so the average temp is somewhere in the 40s, except in the summer when it gets up to the 70s, at which time I switch to leaving all the windows open 24/7 and sweating terribly.

The french view Canada as the English view America if that makes any sense. California is a pretty good place to live but at the same time, theres pocket holes everywhere. Texas is a very conservative state yet Austin is extremely liberal.

Alright, enough with the gay bashing please, since I have friends who are. Having people talk like this makes me nervous to know the bigotry and hatred that still exist in this world. If some wild unknown force globally attacked us all then humanity is going to have to band together; so cool it.

Anyways back on subject. I think the best thing about California is that it’s so ethnically and environmentally diverse. Of course we still have problems down here though to both politically and natural. My favorite places within California to take vacations are Monterey Bay, Lake Tahoe, Palm Springs, Solvang, and sometimes San Francisco. I live in Southern California in-between Anaheim (Angels Stadium & Disneyland Resort) and Los Angeles. I hope one of these days to be able to climb Mt. Whitney and rapel down California’s Moaning Caverns.

As for the way we view, the rest of the U.S., it is hard to put in words since everybody’s opinion is different. I am one of those individual who does not believe the rest of the U.S. is the best thing since “slice bread.” However, I do believe everyone has their faults when it comes on a global scale including our own.

Aye sindex. It's all opinion on who thinks what is the best, it's just a moot discussion that would only turn into flame wars about what place is best and why, and hate between countries.

I live on west coast America. My only complaints is that it is hot as hell (45C outside average in summer, which is I don't know.. like 110F or something, not sure exactly). I am exempt from Tornado's, Hurricanes, severe flooding, basically I am exempt from all natural disasters except fire and dying from heat, so I feel pretty safe.

Ignore the gay bashing and stuff, it's not worth the energy of looking in that direction, just move along.

I'm still slightly hoping that california will fall into the sea or we sell it to China like they want us to. I'm sure they reduce our debt for it. Anyways that place is too liberal for me to move to, and they have the worst court of appeals in the nation.
