The question is however did he have a feeling the joker was lying to him about the locations. Part of me wants to say yes he did, that's why he made that choice.

Well Batman and Robin was fun for me when I was a little kid and it is still pretty entertaining. Personally I liked it, even though its in a different direction on these current films, which are a lot darker and sad to Batman. I have to admit I did like the partners, it gave a more friendly feel to the movies, putting him into a "hero" scope. But nonetheless these films (Batman Begins, Dark Knight) are a whole different view of batman, not as a hero, but as a vigilante.

I was just thinking, a lot of people people, mainly critics, say the film should of been moved up from a 12a to a 15 (PG-13 to R, i think) I agree to this to some extent the themes in the film are much more mature compared to most PG-13/12a films, but it is really only the themes in the movie that deserves the 15/R rating, for example the violence and language in the film isn't that bad, not to get me wrong there was alot of oppurtunity for violence in the film and a lot of the time you know something violent has happened but you just don't see it, like the smile slites the joker cuts in peoples faces. The film will actually be more disturbing to a young child, the older the young child is, if that makes sense, basically an 8-11 year old would find the film more disturbing than a 5-7 year (and I did see a group of 5ish/7ish children with a parent, I think the parent was just plain ignorant(britsh middle class mum, obviously, always sterotyped as ignotant daily mail readers) "oh batman, that must be children friendly because he is a superhero " "oh no the joker is obssesed with killing people, now I am going to complain to the daily mail, even though I couldn't be bothered to even look at a promition poster and figure out that the film is too dark to my group of 5 year olds),anyway enough with my rant against the daily mail and middle class mums, it will be more disturbing/scary/freaked out to 8-11 year old because they actually understand what the joker's on about when he say he prefers stabbing than shooting because he can see the expression on their faces and such while the 5-7 year olds don't even understand what he is on about or qwon't even remember it, though i did laugh when they screamed when they saw two-face's face I was like "ha stupid ignorant mum" when i saw the expression on her face.
I actually believe that the only reson Nolan didn't make the movie more violent and threatening and make it into a 15/R was because he wanted to milk the cash cows of children, toys, video games and a childrens audience aswell as an adults, basically buying into commercilization, kinda of ticks me of, they made the movie to threatening for a 12/PG-13 and not threatening enough for a 15/R, stupid if you ask me.

That was the whole point of batman anyway.

I've personally seen it 3 times and will probably see it a 4th before this weekend. The first time I watched it, I just thought "What a perfect movie!" Although, as I watch it more times, the more I tend to notice huge gaping flaws and hyperboles by almost everyone who's seen it.

First off, Ledger's Joker wasn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination. That character is so well written that if the writer reads any of the comic books, he'll be able to write a great part, and if you're not a terrible actor, you could make it a great character. It's very difficult to screw up. Personally, there are times when I think Jack Nicholson did a better job.

Also, I think Aaron Eckhart is really getting the shaft through all of this, as I feel he did a better job with his part. It wasn't nearly as deep or well thought out as The Joker, but his screen presence was so thick you could cut it with a knife. I think if Heath Ledger was still alive, many of you would agree with me. Heath's performance is really being overhyped just because he committed suicide, which may be very touchy 'n all, but kind of unfair.

Some of the action scenes weren't all that gripping, the one that really stands out is the chase under the highway. Then towards the end (kind of spoiler alert) when the snipers are about to take out the clowns in the Pruitt building, any human being with a quarter of a brain would have realized those weren't henchmen, as they would never be that stupid. I called that as soon as I saw them standing in that big gaping window, and I think everyone else did.

I wish the movie would have been longer though, just to develop the backstory with the mob though, it seems the movie started about a half hour into itself with the bank heist. There should have been a lot of set up dialogue before that, in my opinion.

Though it may seem I'm nitpicking, I still give it a 9/10. It's definitely not better than The Godfather or The Shawshank Redemption, as IMDB has it, I don't think it's even better than The Return of the King. I think within a few weeks, the natural order will be restored and it will fall down to around #10 where it belongs.

If I didn't know better, I'd say the movie was jinxed.

1 star has ODed (Ledger)
1 star has gotten in trouble with the law for hitting his family (Bale)
1 star has just got into a serious traffic accident (Freeman)

A technician was killed in a car accident while preparing one of the stunts for the movie.

It was a good film, but certainly not Oscar worthy. Can't believe someone like Iron Man...thought that was utter trash.

Really? I thought Iron Man was a great movie, it probably just doesn't agree with your frame of mind. I have to say its more of a family flick than batman, which i agree should have been moved to rated R, only because the demented mind of joker shouldn't be allowed to disturb young kids.

I really liked the movie, seemed to drag on a tiny bit but it was still good. As for the Oscar, obvoiusly, now that he is dead people are more eager to praise him which is a bit of a shame besause his act really is Oscar worthy in my opinion. As for the genre, there is a first time for everything right?

Now stop pretenting to be movie critics

I personally don't think his act is Oscar-worthy. He has nothing on Javier Bardem's character from NCfOM last year.

I thought Iron Man was the best superhero movie since Spider-man 2, personally.

Spider man 2 wasn't as good as the first.

At least TDK was about as good as the first.

Never really rated any of the superhero movies. I'll watch them if they're on, but not something I'd go out and buy.

Last film I watched in the Cinema was LoTR part 3. All others have been dvd copies.

It wasn't disturbing to me(being 13)

Idk, I guess I can just deal with the killing. But eh...yeah. I liked the movie and just Heath Ledger's preformance of the Joker was enough to make me want see it.

Watched it twice and the Joker was amazing. Should have been rated R and had graphic "let's put a smile on the face" scenes IMHO.

Yes, Ledger was amazing at the joker. Would have loved to see some graphic scenes, too.

If Ledger doesn't at least get a nomination, the Oscars are completely lost.

He should win post-humous to be quiet honest.
