I am posting up this thread because I have enoRED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOered something strange and want to see if anyone else has ever experinced or seen this. If this is already a thread please delete it or do whatever. Today, I was in Ascalon American-English District 1 and I was standing right by the henchies when I saw another GW player standing right beside me that looked EXACTLY like me. He had the same armour dyed as me, he had the same armour as me, he had the same hair and he was just a little taller than me, and he had the same face as me. What was really akwerd is that this was an expected meet. I think this is strange encounter because I have not ever seen another player look exactly like the other unexpectedly. What I have seen is guilds telling other members to create new characters with the same proffesion, armour, armour color, hair type/color, and all those other details. But I have never seen another person enexpectedly see another player look EXACTLY like him. If you have any other similar experinces or any other strange encounters please feel free to share them. They can be all sorts of strange encounters like having the name of your character identical to your friends character. Please stay on topic and follow all other Guru rules.

I've yet to see a clone of my Mesmer yet. Well, maybe because no one plays Mesmer anymore. :P My Paragon is fairly unique looking, everyone I see has either a bald head or going for the hobo/young guy look.

I have seen my Necromancer's hair around a lot, but never her face; I wonder why.

I don't recall seeing any clones of my monks either.

I saw a Monk in SJM the other day with the EXACT same skin tone, hair style and colour as mine. She was a bit taller with a diff face, but wearing white 15k Kurz. I whipped my White 15k Kurz out and parked next to her and dropped a ":O" into local. She said something, and then changed to Black 15k Luxon (obviously trying to look different).

Out came my black 15k Luxon.

Very freaky o_o

That is very freaky that you both have the same armour. I think that is also very strange that you both had white 15k Kurz armour and black 15k Luxon.

I've seen clones of me at least a dozen times. I'm not sure about the height, as I've never been curious enough to find out, but appearance, I've seen the same stuff as me quite often, armor, face, hair, color, everything. There's not a whole lot of customization in GW, so it's not that big of a deal.

By the way, you might want to spell "encountered" right. That took me a while to figure out what was going on there.

when there was only prophecies I used to see a lot of my ele....there werent many armor choices at that time and the hair/face etc was limited....I assume that my doubles are still roaming out there somewhere.....

Had a couple encounters with clones, it's always a "WTF" moment...

- Sitting in Ascalon Arena on my necro... here pops the FIRST real clone I had seen of him.
- ToA, grey-haired necro clone with black-dyed FoW
- DOA, brown-haired necro clone, his FoW was purple IIRC.
- Zin Ku Corridor with two of my friends, a freaking clone of my monk shows up. Same hair, hair color, armor, but different dye tone - mine's black+blue+silver, his was silver+blue. I just stopped and went right beside him, took a couple pics... that later got deleted. Had never seen a clone of my monk before, because most Prophecies monk don't have my hairstyle.
- Was helping a couple friends in Hell's Precipice on my ranger, when another partial alliance group shows up. One of these guys had a full clone of my ranger. Found it pretty amusing.

I've seen clones of my Monk before (generic, minimum height, blonde female Canthan monk).

I have also seen other minimum height male Ritualists in black Elite Kurzick :P Probably different faces and hair, but we always have the headgear turned on because it looks so awesome.

And LR used to have a tradition where we'd all roll identical Necromancers with the exact same armour patterns for PvP. Later, in HoeZ, we also decided to use Powered By [substance] as our naming standard for PvP.

Sadly those guilds have broken up since then.

well let me add that there is only 2 sets of armor available in PRE-Searing Ascalon. It sounds like that is where you are at in the game.

As for the colors there too is only a few. There are a lot of people playing in presearing these days. especially since the gold is worth 2X more then in post these days.

Also it is a better nicer area to play in and the drops during festivals are better cause of the why things work out with the drop percentages.

All this combined you get players that Look the same..

Haven't seen a clone of my Ranger yet, I think the hair color is common, but not the hairstyle and the face and character build (features, not skills) is quite unique, so no, I haven't seen cloned characters as of yet, but that seems pretty freaky...

i once saw another ranger wearing ancient armour dyed black like mine he had the same face/hair so we where about to go norn point farming so i got my white norn armour he also got norn armour but dyed gray then we went to the explorable zone we both had stormbow's , i thought it was gay so i switched to an axe/shield

I've only seen a clone of my Para once-the only diff. was the armor and body height.

My ranger and warrior I've yet to see a clone.

Although when me and a buddy made our mesmers, we almost made clones (when I was considering what face/hair to look at, I had considered very strongly the combo he ended up with).

But seriously, I've seen ALMOST a copy of my character - female Prophecies elementalist, Ancient armor dyed silver or blue (can't remember right now), red hair, same face... Only hairstyle was different. Which made me quite sad.

OT: I've scene lots of versions of me. Canthan monk, with the bun lightly brown, glasses, FoW armor.

It's only when I pull out my ice crown, and my specially dyed white and black kurz 15k that I'm the one and only Snow Bunny!

Saw an exact clone of my Ritualist once. Only the lenght and armor though since Rits never take of their "hats"

And no, I didn't have a full armor set of one armor. I had a mix ^^.
