OH MY GOD.
Georgia fired the first shot. They stirred up a hornets nest by attacking Russian citizans living is S. Ossetia. This has been covered extensively. The U.S. is trying to make it look like it was Russia's fault due to several factors:
1) Georgia donated almost 5000 troops to our little "project" in Iraq (and by the by-when we demolished Afghanistan, did we do anything to help rebuild? Nope! All we care about in Iraq is oil). So the U.S. wants Georgia on our side.
2) Georgia has a very nice oil pipeline running through it. Obviously since the U.S. is to lazy to drill for oil in our backyard, we're dependent on foreign supplies, and this pipeline is pretty juicy.
3) Our government has alot of left over hostility from the Cold War. In fact, during the height of the conflict, several news magazines did articals paralleling this conflict to the Cold War!
All that Russia did was retaliat in a similar fashion to what we did to the Taliban in Afghanistan! Yet it was okay for us to go in, destroy a country, leave many people homeless, yet not okay for Russia to do the same. In fact I dare say that Russia did a cleaner job of it than we did. At least most of the countries infrastructure is intact. In Afghanistan we left the civilians at the hands of warlords and heavily bombed the rest of the country.
Keep this in mind-the Georgian army commited several massacres during their invasion-such that Russia has brought up genocide charges to the Georgian gov't!
Statements like this make me sick.

By the way, he said nothing about your Georgians are sub-human, he said that America should clean up itself before attempting to clean up other nations.

Do you still think Mongolians today are ruthless nomadic warriors because of Genghis Khan? Please don't hold all Christians accountable for something a corrupt Catholic church did almost a millennium ago.

Wow, how does one really respond to that. I'm an egoistical asshole because I pay my taxes and want government services that actually work? Tell me, do you pay your taxes expecting your government to throw it away rather then fixing the problems in your country?
Everybody else is a person, everybody else is needy. The US is excepted to give, give, give and when they really don't have anymore to give, well its really too bloody bad cause they have to do it anyway even if it means taking it away from our own people. And we're still seen as the bad guys. I ask again, what is everybody else giving to Georgia? And if you see them as the aggressors, then what is everybody else giving to the South Ossetians? Why the hell is it, that whenever it comes time for aid to be freely given, suddenly the US is the only nation is the world that has any money? Until your nation starts handing out freebies, kindly stfu.
And stop bringing religion into this. That is a a subject for another thread and maybe an altogether different forum. Almost every side has done some crazy bat shit to the other, be it in the very distant past or the not so distant. My Venezuela example was meant to highlight that there are far more issues than just religion and it still all has nothing to do with the US giving money to Georgia.

"You know what that source is?
Israel.
If it wasn't for us backing Israel up, we would be nowhere near this predicament. Not saying we should or shouldn't back Israel, but stating a clear reason as to why 9/11 and so forth escalated to what it is today."
THIS IS CORRECT.
The Jewish Torah hints at the friends of Israel (christian) being targeted by radicals against the ONE TRUE GOD. The Bible speaks in Revelations of this as well.
The US knew what it was doing by helping Israel. Please remember that the US was FOUNDED on CHRISTIAN Principals. This is Why we have the FREEDOM OF RELIGION. Try that in Turkey and see how long you live.
As for protecting the world um...WE ARE IN THE WORLD. Geesh. Freedom is not cheep and it is not free. It never has been.
People like to KILL EACH OTHER. That is what we do. This is human nature. Cane and Able. If you do not know who they are they were brother's that Killed each other over stupid stuff.
So it is our son's and daughter's, mother's and father's that are KILLING themselves so that we can say, "we don't need guns or ships or to help our neighbors just let them kill themselves." This mentality leads to the destruction of your society. Remember the TOWERS. It did not matter if not everyone was a Christian that died in the towers. if ONE Christian Died then that is enough.
So next are you going to throw all of the Christian's out of the county to make it safe? Is this not what NERO did in Rome?
Face it US is not a free country. It cost lives. 1 Billion is a drop in the bucket. There are 300 Million legal in the US. That is 3 bucks to keep a nation safe from the Crazies. I will gladly pay my 3 bucks and raise you 10.

The problem with Muslims and Israelites is answering the question of "Is it Isaac or is it Ishmael?"
Other than that, all in the Middle East and Europe are fake, crypto-religious, atheists mofos exploiting the Holy and Divine.
Israel is squatting since 1922 and their Muslim clouts didn't even do anything when Iraq was hit, (and probably won't do anything) when the crybaby state of Israel points at US warmachine at Iran.
Pathetic.

To you it maybe a 1000 years ago, but if you look you'll realize that we're seeing the same trends today as we did back then, just with better technology etc. etc.

Been reading alot of posts, and alot of good points made.
On the side note, did you know Georgia's population of 4,630,8413 (over 4 and a half million)...
Georgia's population matches HALF of the number of World of Warcraft suscribers.
The country doesn't have as big of a population of Cook County Illinois, (where I reside). That's 3235 people per sq. mile in Cook County compared to Georgia's 172 people per sq. mile. And Cook County's (Chicago included as part of Cook County) area is 1635 sq. mile compared to Georgia's 26,916 sq. mile area.
The country has only half of New York (city)'s population.
Guild Wars has sold more copies than the total population of Georgia combined.
Just interesting facts about its tiny population.

I'm not saying that stuff that happened over 1000 years ago doesn't affect stuff today, because everyone should know that. What I'm saying is that he shouldn't be implying that all Christians today are murderous lunatics because of what our great-great-great (x13) grandfathers did.

More interesting fact, the United States was once a set of colonies under the rule of a monarch across the ocean. It's only been a period of several hundred years. There are better odds of the country of Georgia becoming an ally of strategic importance in the future than Cook County Illinois based on the location alone. I'll explain.
People talk about how religions have been fighting for thousands of years. Yea, with words, stone, iron, and steel. Only recently with gunpowder, and hopefully never with nuclear weaponry. What exactly are the limits on nuclear weaponry: can one man possess a bomb powerful enough to hold the earth for ransom? Science moves on while no one thinks of this type of scenario.
Georgia matters because you win over the world several million at a time. And in the end, we all share the same planet and could be subject to the same global problems (disease, natural/manmade disasters). So it's in the best interests of every country to find some kind of way to stay in communication, simply because of what the future might hold. Imagine what would have been done to the entire African continent if no one stepped in and warned about how HIV/AIDs was spread.
But as its getting pretty clear, people don't give a damn beyond their own lives. That's why world leaders stopped listening to the people, and now try to do everything on their own.

By the way, good attempt at stereotyping, but not everyone who disagrees with evolution is a "religious freak".

Hmmm, if Obama is president, I'm going to bet he'll get a sniper bullet in the head. No, I'm not racist, I just think some nut will do that.
