If China wanted to dominate, they'd stop lending the US goverment money and the government would go bankrupt because there's no way this congress can balance the budget and it's doubtful the next one would be able to either.

And then the US wouldn't be able to continue its massive foreign deficit, the vast majority of which goes to China.

That would force some major Bank closures among others things, all they would have to do is close their bank accounts and sell the US stock they have invested in, and the great depression would look like a small recession compared to the effect it would have, throw in the UAE investments as well and the US government would have to file for chapter 11.
