Hell Freezes Over In WoW
1. PvE-PvP Server Transfers
2. Actual class balance/normalization
3. New class leads in beta forums which actually listen to feedback.
I wish I wasn't in college so I could play WotLK.

PvE-PvP Server Transfers, does that mean free transfers always or just once?
Maybe I could finally go to play to Mazrigos where my schoolmates are.

Check the official site for the pvE-PvP announcement.
Check the beta forums for evidence of caring.

Too bad class balance isn't the worst part of WoW.
not that I was thinking about the purchase though,60-80 is just too much of a pain the arse.

All done because they're scared of WAR, which is pretty obvious. They said they would never do PvE-PvP trades but they are doing it now to show "hey, we can change! look stay with us!!!" Also the mana normalization is a terrible change, boy I sure do love how they removed basically the only depth that came from playing a caster class (it was little depth, but hey that's WoW in a nutshell). Their original design decision of giving spellcasters lower ranked skills to conserve mana now means nothing, healers take less skill (ffs, they have a talent that gives you like a 40% chance for your healing spells to cost 60% less mana if you overheal. Great.), and this is hardly balance, just them continuing on their path of making everything samey that they've been doing since A/H both got Pally and Shaman. Yay every class will do the same amount of DPS so there might as well be 3 classes.
Oh and now they have Bind on Account items gotten from raiding that level up as you do so you never have to replace your items leveling ever again, making 80% of the lower items completely useless for these people. Yay!
They also sent all my friends beta emails, a few days before WAR launches. Nice try Blizzard.

Nananana, Blizzard is panicking. On WAR Alliance forums I see posts where people SUDDENLY get WotLK beta keys...
Btw, did any of you tried to cancel a subscription lately? Here is a text someone canceling WoW received:
Quote:
"We at Blizzard are extremely proud of the experience available in World of Warcraft and we are sorry to hear that another company has lured you away with their gaudy baubles and promises. We feel that World of Warcraft incorporates elements from the entire spectrum of online gaming and has something for everyone, casual gamer and power gamer alike"
|
Hehe. Everything is funny, even the part about "for everyone, casual gamer and power gamer". I once was a casual gamer, didn't like WoW. Now I'm sort of a power gamer (PG = focused on fast leveling? Dunno, that's what it meant in D2 and Neverwinter Nights) and I still think it's crap...

Haven't managed to get my hands on those beta keys but my friends have. So far WotLK looks like a winner with all the changes & content it'll bring.
WotLK, FO3, Dead Space...what an autumn!

Difference is - Mythic isn't Funcom. Mythic already made a pretty successful MMORPG and Mythic listens to play complains instead of locking complain threads and banning people from forums.
Oh, and WAR is in open beta now, 14th is Collector's Edition Head Start, 16th Standard Edition Pre-Ordered Head Start and even if we have seen only half of the game (T1-T2 out of 4 tiers for all conflict sides, level 20 out of 40 available), it's working perfectly, almost no bugs (they fixed even the most annoying "Monster cannot be attacked" bug) and pretty good server stability.
AoC, one the other hand, is still in Beta, where Male and Female characters have different attack speed...
OT - It seems everyone that cancels WoW subscription gets a WotLK beta key. Few people confirmed it...

WoW has terrible mechanics for PvP. Blizzard needs to stop pushing PvP so heavily and focus on what they're good at.

Most of the changes seems PvE based as opposed to PvP. Lake Wintergraps, for example, is PvE/PvP.

OMG, i have actually canceled my account two days ago, with the reason 'left for another game', although i didnt bother to read the text they put after you sellect that. Ive canceled my account a few times before and they always write some bulls**t, waste of a minute of time to read those. I feel so bad for not reading it now.
Anyways Blizzard always has been your typical money-driven monopolistic corporation. Not to say other companies arent driven by money, but they do take different steps in managing their games and making compromises between profit and satisfying their customers. Blizzard can behave however it wants to behave and it does that, for over three years there has not been any serious competition to WoW (not even GW because it covers a different field), and although they did originally state that they would release an expansion every year, theyve taken it slow as any monopolist would and the second one in nearly 4 years is yet to be released. The suggestions forum is full os great ideas, very nicely complied by enthousiasts, but the forum doesnt seem to be moderated, there arent any blue responses, it is practically ignored. And the insult quoted in Abedeus' post doesnt surprise me at all.
And now WAR comes. But you know EA is like this too, dont be surprised if in a few years time WoW starts to loose it, and EA and Mythic start to treat their customers exactly like Blizzard did ...
And i love ANet for not being like that.

ill bet that WAR fate will same as pretty much any new MMOs fate in last couple of years. So far, we are in "WOOT, It has slightly different X that in WoW, it will surely kill it off, Blizzard is desperate." phase.
*grabs popcorn and waits for unfiltered news of endgame problems to leak*
PS: Mythic is about as Evil as Funcom as far as i am concerned. For example DAoC "trial" accounts that charge you and are real pain to cancel. Also, Mythic is now part of EA, which should raise some red flags.

EA has nothing to do with Mythic at all except for owning them and making the CD Boxes and sending them out to stores....which they did back during DAOC too...
They are not even close to Funcom in evil are you kidding me? Have you seen some of the stuff Funcom has done. Like no. Mythic may be lacking in parts, (customer support definitely not being one of them, they bend over for you...) but they are not dictators who lie through their teeth about problems for half a year then finally admit them then ban people for saying the truth or pointing out flaws (even the one they just admitted), nor do they lie about subscribers or anything remotely close to Funcoms evil!! AlsoElder testers have already played the end game substantially, so enjoy waiting for nothing.
Also the problem is is a lot of those other MMOs are trying to kill WoW, but WAR isn't really trying to do that at all (it's trying to deliver on something different than anything WoW can do, world PvP.).
Also Mythic has Paul Barnett, who rules so hard and is literally defined somewhere in the spectrum of "super goddamn amazing" as a person.
http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/pos..._Part_1.ht ml
(It's g4 i know but its worth it for Paul B he is awesome.)
Also November 11th eh? My dad will be excited. Very much so. I'll be....burning towns down and capturing forts. Hooray!

EA will want profits, they are not owning Mythic just to look cool. EA will surely stand back and let them do their job, but if anything goes wrong ... Well, i can't imagine them not taking any action they deem necesary. Thet don't have SOE's talent for killing MMO thou.
And as i said, i have bad experience of having trial account of DAoC converted to "regular one", and since they required CC to sign up they took liberty of billing me and being real pain to cancel account. Not mentioning zero refund.
Also, we have seen Mythic only handle "success". There is no telling what they might pull if they get under similar stress like Funcom did. They probably will not do worse than Funcom ... that is nearly impossible, but they still could do pretty badly.
