The game is bad atm. I currently have a r22 marauder and r11 ironbreaker. World PvP is dead in many servers, so many people just grind scenarios non-stop because it is the most efficient way to level up and get renown. The PvE in WAR is bad, worse than that of Guild Wars, at least in my opinion.
Also a ton of bugs, some slightly annoying, some quite bad.
I would not buy it in its current state if I hadn't already.
It baffles me how Mythic did not foresee that destruction would badly outnumber order. The classes look MUCH better, and most even outclass their order counterparts siginificantly.
Honestly, why do I get the impression that every single game company in the world, other than Blizzard, fails ? At least in the RPG department.

Because Blizzard makes 1 game per 5-8 years (unless it's an add-on) and they are instant classics? Except for WoW, it's just a grindfest for egomaniacs. I mean, I won't ever pay $15 to work in a game...
WAR has some bugs, Destro overpopulation is visible, but if you play on a high-population servers, it's usually not that bad.
World PvP has too little to offer. Barely any exp, gold or items for either defenders or attackers. First ones don't get a squat after repelling an attack, and the others, well... Have a small chance of getting something.
RvR gear is a bit worse than PvE gear pre-30-40.
And a lot of players are upset about how sugarish Order characters look. No idea, why, because in Warhammer almost every race is violent and angry, except for gnomes. They are just too busy eating to care about war. And I would NEVER play a High Elf for more than 5 levels. Even elves from Lord of the Ring look more... manly. You can barely tell if one is male or a female.
Which is strange, because even WH/WH40 miniatures look much, much better.

Gnomes?
They did kind of skimp on the Character models in WAR, which is disappointing. I want a raptor-like Nauglir! They also seem to have de-violenced the Order side. To be honest, after taking down an Orc, the Ironbreaker should take his hammer to those prissy Elves.
HE's are just like DE's when it comes to gender confusion. The only way I can tell (at the moment) if a DoK is male or female is if I see the front part. The Orcs look good, they look like Orcs.
I can't say much for PvP though. The one scenario I joined was a bunch of people running around randomly with no direction (I want to able to ping and draw on the map AND have an easier chat system), which I then had to leave after ten minutes or whatever a quater of one of those is.
Still, for all its current flaws (it is still quite green), I love my Disciple. I just wish I could play her during peak times, rather than stare at a 3 hour long queue.

So sad cuz it's true!
Ah well, at least the armors look pretty groovy all around and that they're actually class specific.

If it weren't for the fact my computer would have a G/CPU attack if I tried, I'd take a screenie of the cool shoulder pads I got the other day. It feel like pieces of dragon and troll's teeth have been attached to giant leather mounds and put on my shoulders to protect my face. I love these pads. The only thing I want as a Disciple is a more visible head guard. The neck brace is a nice idea, but I'd imagine that the Druchii would want a little more head protection and spikes.

I love my SW's armor, it's always bearing an appealing aesthetic; never bad, corny, or rugged, always fancy : ) Not so much for my borc, though.

Pretty impressive game really, however i've already gotten a bit bored but this isn't due to the game itself. More because i've moved to uni lol.
But yeah from a GW perspective:
- The pvp (outside of a guild) isn't brilliant, unless in GW all you really do is AB in which case you'll absolutely love it. I just can't appreciate it as much as GvG.
- On euro there's still quite a lot of issues with scenario's (at least on my server), i'm T2 and i log on, queue all 3 scenario's and i've had absolutely nothing pop the past few days whilst playing for an hour or two. However i am on destro so this may be the reason, and the server is med-med population.
- I can't help but feel a bit lost as to what you're supposed to do sometimes, but that's more likely to my inexperience with "real MMO's".
- In a similar vein, all the servers i've played on (inc High-High/Full etc) seem sparce in popularity as you go about the place.
However a lot of these points would be pretty nulled if i joined a guild, but since i've only just gone to uni it's not the best time to go about doing that!
Other than these things for me the game is great, when you get a warband together to go do some PQ or RvR objectives it does feel pretty epic, and i'm only in T2 still so i'd imagine it only gets better.
Plus witch elfs are pretty fun to kill shit with, and the majority of game mechanics are pretty cool (by that i mean Blood Lust etc and morales).

I play in Karak-Hirn and even in the evenings, outside of PQ areas the place is dead. It's also only a few of the PQ's that have a sizeable chunk of people in them. The population is too sparse, to be honest. I don't think they've released the server cap when it comes to how many people can play at a single time, but it doesn't seem to be very high (even worse with Karak-Hirn is the 100+ queue at peak times).
The almost useless chat system doesn't help either.
I have actually no idea how easy it is to get into a Guild or not. As I'm playing a healer, I often joined in with random people for PQ's (I don't PvP, I suck at it in Guild Wars, even worse in WAR because of the utter lack of direction) and would occasionally seem them around in later areas. I'm not sure if it was related or not, but I got a random invite to join a guild from someone I'd never heard of. The only thing that doesn't work is that I play in the mornings (work's a small shift in the afternoons) and nobody's on. That and they're all strangers.

I'm on Darklands & Ironclaw (both Oceanic) servers. I play on there at varying hours of the day, and during the day time, the population can get quite scarce - but it allowed me to grind up Inf alone in PQ's, so I enjoyed the quietness of it. At night, it's pretty active, if I queue for a Scenario, especially the popular ones (T1 Nordenwatch, T2 Mourkain Temple, T3 Tor-Anroc - haven't hit T4 yet :P ), I wait 5 minutes at the very longest.
I've still quit GW for this game. For me, Guild Wars might as well been a single player game by the end of it. W:AR, no one screams out "Wiki it!" when others ask for help, there's less immature smack-talk, people are willing to PUG up for Instances and random Scenario groupings.
I have to agree that the Order chars aren't as kewl looking as Destruction. I wanted to make me a Bright Wizard (I'm a ele by trade in GW), and when I looked at the different character creation options, even with the Collectors Ed, I couldn't go through with it. I mean, they all have Dragonball Z hair!
On my Order server, we're in huge need of Tanks. Who would want to play a Dwarf Ironbreaker when you can just jump over them; or a Swordmaster that has gender issues. Compare that to the Blorc & Chosen, who are armoured up, huge big tanky things, who have huge popularity. But in the latest patch, on some servers with a majority Dest base, they're giving an extra 20% xp and reknown bonus for Order characters.
But meh, I'm loving this game. Yeah, it's still a bit buggy, I still have random crashes, but I'm having FUN. Something I didn't have in Guild Wars for a long time.

Just a few tid-bits:
-You ain't gonna hear people saying "wiki it!" or otherwise (in WoW people just say "thoughtbott" or "wowhead it") so close to the release. Give it some time before people start to start putting in more data.
-QQQFFFTTT on the Bright Wizards >:I I wanted to be a chick BW but couldn't due to how utterly ridiculous the doos looked. I don't think you can even be bald (which is about 500x sexier than the crap they have now).
-Ironbreakers are actually the best tanks out of them all. Grudges are much more flexible than the others, plus they have more tricks up their sleevs (massive KBs mostly) than any of the others.
-And yus this game is fun ;p But WHERE'S MAH CHOPPA!>?!?

Now repeat this few times till you learn: RENOWN, not REKNOWN. There isn't even a word "reknown".
I love my Engineer (19/18), already in T3 but I think after the servers get up (a small hotfix for chat problems) I'll go back to T2 and do scenarios some more. It's just that I don't have a lot of skills and a LOT of mastery points people at 25-30 have.

Just joined a guild after bumping into a group doing a PQ.
Jesus christ the game gets so much better when you can get a semi organised team together to do something, rolled through 3 PQ's straight off the bat instead of grinding stuff... Which got me full inf for new stuff =)

My Guild's just chatting D:
I should really actively look for one which can help to learn RvR/PvP, as that most help I got in my current game is 'maybe this game isn't for you' and 'it takes practice'. Practice doesn't help when you have no idea what the map entails, the people don't talk and everyone's running around like a headless chicken. I think the only people who specc lower than me in the Scenarios are the people who AFK.
So, if any Guru'er here has any tips on better RvR for a DoK, PM me! (Please q.q)

Warhammer Alliance (directly to DoK forums, too! I'm so nice :3) has been where I've been going so far since it's largely active. I'd stay away from RvR forums, though. Pretty spiteful place.
