so far what i've seen in warhammer:
great concept, but really, just wow in a shiny new wrapper and anew name.
great pvp structure, that is failing not because of the balance or the way it is put together but because of the human element.
Everyone wants to see the world burn because everyone's secretly a nihilist, so the good side, well, the few that play on it, suck. What's pvp without an enemy worth fighting?

A few quirks here and there (yes I did buy it) which are slightly annoying, but that may just be my computer getting very confused over this new shiny game.
Apart from all the incest, I do like Druchii society (slaves and being able to torture people for the most petty slight!), so what better way to fulfill my loathing of prissy tree-hugging Elves than to make a Bride of Khaine? It's amusing, to say the least.
I haven't found any emotes yet... I don't think there are any. Anybody know? The Warhammer forums are big and intimidating ._.
I like the ability to sheath my weapons though. Now I need to level more to get myself a cute little Nauglir!

Is is what youve 'seen' or have you actually played the game? How many hours did you spend? What level are you?
I would actually find it alarming if people were good in a game that is a week old. (no, not everyone had beta access)

WAR has a potential to be a great game, but here are the problems I found so far (played up until lvl 13, mostly doing PvP):
- The game won't remember some keybindings. I use the numpad and keys around for movement and skills and every time I start the game I need to rebind UP and DOWN to whatever I want them to do (activating skills 2 and 4 instead of moving up and down)
- Bugged animations galore! Spell animations are static (have a fixed time) and the game has spell pushback, so when you're trying to get a spell off while getting hit, you see your character shoot a fireball as normal, but it hasn't actually gone off. The only real indicator is the cast bar. If you also have a shitty internet connection, this + lag will be really annoying at times.
- More bugged animations: when I frost nova a mob (doesn't happen in PvP) and kite away, the mob slides across the ground and hits me, but causes no damage and when the freeze breaks/wears off, it gets teleported to where I actually snared it. Incredibly annoying.
- There's a glitch in the first battleground where an Order player can hide somewhere (I still don't know where) at one of the capture points and by being there prevent it from ever getting capped. Obviously you can't kill him because you can't see him. Pretty gamebreaking when someone does it. Happened a couple times.
- Tier 2 battlegrounds have ridiculously long que times but I think this is just because of population imbalance, so not dev's fault... I rerolled the other side to check.
- The game crashes pretty often in fullscreen, but after I started running it in a window, crashes don't happen nearly as frequently.
Probably some more minor to medium-sized bugs I can't remember at the moment. I'm sure some will be patched quickly, but something like spell animation/pushback issue would be difficult to fix as far as I can tell. WAR's success will probably depend a lot on how soon and how well the game will get polished. But leveling through PvP already makes it better than WoW.

Its pretty good despite its annoying bits in my opinion, and they're bound to get fixed sooner or later.
Major things i don't like so far:
1. Quest markers, you get this huge area to go explore to find 1 guy to kill with no clue whatsoever as to wherebouts in the area he is. Plus he might not even be there if someone else in the area just killed him ><
2. Servers even when full are very sparce player wise (on euro at least), but this might be just cos i'm used to towns in GW etc. But you basically have to be in a guild to get parties for a PQ's or RvR.
3. European Servers are bugged, many of them the Scenario queue's are broken, i haven't been able to get into one sine the 19th lol.
Asides from those though its really quite good fun, Public Quests are brilliant (imo) if a little repetitive at times and the pvp is good fun if a little random.

I'd suggest just go for a core servers showing med-med order/destruction population in your most active playtime, that way you'll never have to queue (hopefully^^) yet still have a fair few players about.
Also i'd check this forum http://www.warhammeralliance.com/for...splay.php?f=87, its got a subforum for each individual server so you can find out if one's you're looking at have the scenario waiting issue thing or any other issues etc. Plus guilds post there since i've never seen anyone recruit at all anywhere, even in parties etc.
I wouldn't go onto the ones that are getting cloned (there's a notice in the patcher saying which are), i have a feeling they're still going to be very busy despite being cloned.

Core:
-Can do Tome of Knowledge unlocks in any of the 4 tiers of play, any time.
-Can't be PvP'd in non-RvR flagged areas unless you flag for it.
-PvPing in Tiers below your level range causes you to become a chicken.
Open:
-Become a chicken when you enter any zone 2 tiers below your current tier level range, preventing you from doing ToK unlocks there. So, if you're a Tier 3 level, you are locked out of all Tier 1 content.
-Can PvP anywhere in the tiers available to you that you aren't locked out of.
-However the above is pointless because most of Tier 3 & 4 are RvR zones anyways. (as in, 80-90% of each zone is covered as an RvR zone.)
-Can be ganked, making most PQ's and other PvE content worthless to try since PvE areas are more closed in trying to give you an experience.
Roll Core.

#1 reason to get this game:
"Oi! cuz gazbad sez so we bashed up 'carrew' wif 'is mates, an we bashed em gud. dey was sellin shinies wot ain't thers, 'an now dey ain't movin no more."
Server wide messages when they ban gold sellers. That's an example of one.
Awesome.

WAR is by no means a WoW killer (it will be the nail in the coffin for AoC though), it's too PvP centric (even though its pve is very very solid, and its PvP is in more of a carebear style than most of us mmo vets are used to) and its just not going to knock WoW lose from the foothold its gathered over the years, not yet atleast. But putting aside that fact that everyone has to compare every single MMO released to WoW, I think WAR will be a spectacular game in a few months once all the major bugs are kinked out.
The gameplay seems smooth and easy to pick up, yet truely deep, and the lore that they have to build the game on outclasses even the Warcraft series. Again, the end game PvE content isn't quite there, and the game isn't quite as impressive as one would hope (overhyped like the majority of today's mmos), but it has amazing potential, and will likely have a great future battling it out among the other top P2Ps.
I'm definitely gona give WAR a spin, but since GW has no monthly fees, how can you ever truely leave this game?
Anet continues to add content, tweak skills, hold events and contests, and even though you might get bored every now and then, there's nothing stoping you from coming back after your break from the game, or just using the game as a getaway inbetween other games that might have your attention currently.

True. PvE scrubs will don't like WAR. Also, power-loving giant-sword using idiots won't like it, either. One person can fight 1 vs 1, or a tank can defend 2 vs 1, but you can't kill 2 or more people at once. Also, there is auto-facing when attacking/casting spells.
PvE end-game = PvP sieges, as they take place in PvE areas.
What else... Oh, tanks are useful in pve AND pvp (get behind me, I'll taunt that retarded MDPSer and beat him to a pulp if he ignores me, if not, I will tank him, and you DPS him). All characters have same chances (except for Squig Herder and Magus, two underpowered characters... Hopefully, they will buff them, as I simply LOVE squig herder concept) in pve and pvp, 1 vs 1 and group vs group.
Healers don't need to be healbots, all of them can apply nice damage. Bah, out of 6 healer classes, there are only 2 healbots - Zealot (Chaos) and Runepriest (Dwarfs), both don't have an unique spell mechanic. Shamans (Goblins) and Archmages (High Elves) - when they heal, their damage spells cost less. When they damage, their healing/buffing/resurrecting spells cast faster. There are also melee healers, Disciple of Khaine (Dark Elves) and Warrior Priest (Imperial), that damage using normal Action Points (AP), but you need Soul Essence and Righteous Fury respectively to heal, so you must cut and bludgeon enemies to be an effective healer.
Right now I'm beginning to love Engineer. Can I say an amen to AoE DoTs and auto-shooting turrets bombarding enemies with grenades? Hell yes.

SH and SW are the two worst classes right now, with SH being the utmost bad. Magus got somewhat of a review so while it's not "peak condition" it's still a decent class.

Well, SW has a bit bigger DPS output than SH (I almost forced myself to get one to level 15 in OB, just to see if he's stronger then - nope, he's not), also doesn't depend on a meatball to deal damage/get buffs (although having a bunch of squigs is right now the only reason to play SH).
Magus is decent, but only in organized groups. In randoms/solo Scenarios he's mediocre. I mean, he has a lot of debuffs and so on, but on his own is pretty weak. I often either ignore him or just kill in 5 seconds and move on.
By the way, Engineer will probably be my main. I just can't say no to a small dude in a metal helmet with a large shotgun and a spanner throwing 'nades at people.

I've quit GW for this (playing GW for 3+ years). As soon as I was in the CE Closed Beta, it had me hooked. I'm previously aware of the world of Warhammer (have an army of Druchii, plus a Cult of Slaanesh), and just couldn't wait for this to come out, I have finally found my Guild Wars killer.
But W:AR has just been released, I'm acceptable to the occasionally crash and bug... for now. Plus Mythic have stopped downtime during prime time Aus hours, and I must give them huge credit for that.
I'm a PvE carebear, despised PvP in GW, the AI was my number one enemy. But as soon as I jump into a scenario, damn, it had me yearning for more. RvR is a blast, 20 odd ppl just going at it on the RvR fields, holding keeps, screaming out "INC!", then watching chickens run past as they level into the next tier :P
The PvE quests are very fluffy, each have their own little story to it, and lore associated. They have strayed a bit - though there ARE male DE Sorcerers (Malekith would not be impressed), there are no Male Witch Elves Wish they went with having the Black Guard for a career, but I guess Destruction can't have 3 uber tanks running around. Fingers crossed for the expansion.
Much love for this game. Guild Wars, you've kept me well entertained over the years, but I've found a new game... WAAAAAAAUGH!

Hey all, just popping in to say if anyone is looking for an Order guild on Averheim, we're looking to start one up with people who also play GW. GW veterans seem to have a better understanding of gameplay in WAR and we're just looking for some people who we can enjoy the game with. Casual players with a common background.
PM me if you're interested.
