Racism is not natural.. our family gives it to us: i.e if u grow up hearing ur family saying that black ppl are just disgusting, soon u'll start thinking the same way.. but if u put a black baby and a white baby in a playground they'll still play together...
BUT i agree that
u can't solve this huge problem called "Racism" on gwg..!

Well, there is this thing called "tribal impulse" which kicks in anytime people are distinguished by something ... like color and can be grouped. Me-group, which i am part of (which is superior by virtue of me being in it) and You-group (which is inferior because i am not in it).
Skin color is simplest "distinguishing trait". Language, Faith, Sexual orientation, Origin ... etc, etc ... they all work just fine if people want to hate someone..
Oh, and outside that, racism can be learned without being brought up by hatefull rednecks. All it takes is to live in bad neighborhood. I have met several people who claim to have not been "racist" before they lived in vicinity of gypsies, but changed after some contact with them.

In social psychology, they call this the "conformity pressure" and this is one of the most powerful social tool (cf. facebook).
On of the problem of "racism" is that it relies on the notion of "race" that was originally used for biology reasons, and it slowly move into the non-scientific world to mean slightly different things (no one checks exact racial traits, e.g. DNA, when they talk about race ). Very interestingly, the terms was mainly coined (though the notion existed before) during European imperialisms...

"...Hey, you know something people? I'm not black, but there's a whole lots a times I wish I could say I'm not white..."
Frank Zappa (December 21, 1940 – December 4, 1993) american composer.
"If you're a real American that is, an American Indian you're lucky to be alive. For whether he really believed it or not, the white man has acted on the principle that "The only good Indian is a dead one". This was certainly one of the foundation stones upon which the white European invaders of North America and their descendants established and built the republic of the U.S.A."
"Most of the American laws defining race are not to be compared with those once enforced by Nazi Germany, the latter being relatively more liberal. In the view of the Nazis, persons having less than one fourth Jewish blood could qualify as Aryans, whereas many of the American laws specify that persons having one-eighth, one-sixteenth, or any ascertainable" Negro blood are Negroes in the eyes of the law and subject to all restrictions governing the conduct of Negroes."
Stetson Kennedy (born October 5, 1916 in Jacksonville, Florida) is an award-winning author and human rights activist from Florida.
"I look forward confidently to the day when all who work for a living will be one with no thought to their separateness as Negroes, Jews, Italians or any other distinctions. This will be the day when we bring into full realization the American dream — a dream yet unfulfilled. A dream of equality of opportunity, of privilege and property widely distributed; a dream of a land where men will not take necessities from the many to give luxuries to the few; a dream of a land where men will not argue that the color of a man's skin determines the content of his character; a dream of a nation where all our gifts and resources are held not for ourselves alone, but as instruments of service for the rest of humanity; the dream of a country where every man will respect the dignity and worth of the human personality."
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968) was a Baptist minister and civil rights activist; he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.

the problem is that now the minorities in the US get the race trump card so we look like the bad guys and theyre not. not saying they are, humans should all be equal but they sure dont act like it. i call a black kid a nigga and im a horrible racist. he calls me a cracka in my face or white boy and its fine. even if i call him a black boy, its racist.
second are accents. even american born blacks have that southern slang accent, even up in the north. this is another dividing issue. you notice when a black person talks 'like a white person', it's all looked at different. and when some whites try to talk 'like a black person', it's also looked at different.
so thats the problem. its the minorities who want an edge over equality because they think thats how theyre gonna get it, but its not. you want to stop racism? then everyone has to unite under a single culture. theres hip hop and rock, and misc. thats one dividing race issue. another is neighborhoods. not all, but I live in chicago, and most of South Side chicago is poor and black. (my cousin is white and lived in the south side, my source).
and if anyone thinks what i said in this reply is racist, they are going back to my point of the race trump card. its hypocrisy. im stating the truth and there should be no justifiable denying to it. I wish we would all treat each other equally, but unfortunetyaly it just dont happen in our lifetime.
if this was tl;dr, i said the main reason for racism in modern times is the 'race trump card' where the black man is not racist but the white man is. (generally speaking, not always true)
edit: this race trump card is getting out of hand. a recent news survey stated there were complaints that Resident Evil 5, with black zombies, is racist. But the game is set in Africa, and most gamers sided with the fact that it just makes sense for black zombies in Africa. Nobody complained about the hispanic zombies in Resident Evil 4... Or 99% of the other zombie games that have whites.

Racism isn't the problem.
Not accepting another person's creed simply because they're different than you, whatever that may be, is what's wrong.
It can be race, religion, sexuality, what sport you do or don't play, what clothes you do or don't wear, height, weight, and so on so on so forth. The worst of which being those that people have no control over; though, the problem is not limited to such.

*turns on Avenue Q's Everyone's A Little Bit Racist.
Seriously, though? Racism's everywhere. This doesn't mean it's good. There are going to be people who judge you based on skin colour. It doesn't matter what your skin colour is, someone's going to find a negative comment based on that.

And, unfortunately, there are also those who reflexively go "RACIST!" at any possible sign of racism. It seems a lot of people cannot tell the difference between "dealing with the issue of racism" and actually "being racist". That is why you get incidents where people insisting that To Kill A Mockingbird is racist. It doesn't matter that Atticus Finch spends a lot of time telling his kids that racism is wrong and all that, it's apparently automatically racist because a black man was given an unfair trial, in a time period where that was supposedly the norm. =\

Racism exists because there are races, racism will be always present in this world, it's not a problem by itself.
Now, if you add hate, ignorance, jokes, sarcasm, intolerance, and so on, that's a different story, that things are always problematic even without races, so the problem is not racism by itself (I repeat).
