Sounds like you enjoy strategy as much as rpg mmo's, Besides oblivion, Morrowind or fable 2 I would also encourage you to try Civilization 4 its a great game with unlimited playability really fun multiplayer too. Or if you want to give your computer a break and play a card game. Alot of my old guildwars friends also play Magic the gathering. Its cool strategy card game which incorporates likenesses and traits that guildwars has (mainly skills).
~Cheers

No matter where you look, there are no games similar to GW. This game is very unique and its game play balance is unmatched. The other games can only faintly resemble GW. When I got bored with GW I went for Sword of The New World game. It's good, but it just wasn't the same when I played GW. So I played that game again and still am because of all the AB and build play around. You just might as well gear up for a different game play experience when you're playing games other than GW, until the second game comes out.

Baldur's gate 1 & 2 and both Champions of Norrath ~ Return to arms are like Diablo in a number of ways but they provide more fun and hours of entertainment then you can imagine. They're all on ps2 so if you're a pc only player you're out of luck. Online play is supported by the latter two with voice chat and keyboard support.

Every MMORPG game is grindy and/or full of suck, but RoM/WoW usually mongle the manstick less than the rest.

Morrowind.
If my computer had a compatible graphics card for it I'd be playing it right now.

Hey what does Morrowind and Everquest have in common? Find an enemy and sit there trading blows with each other! Only difference is EQ provides the benefit of giving you a coffee break while you wait. *tapdance*

Depends what you played for.
If you liked PvE grind, I'd suggest something silly and mindless. Perhaps Runescape would appeal to you.
If you liked competitive play, pick any known competitive game on the market.
If you liked men, just go on QQ forums and play whatever your idol is playing.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
The game isn't similar to GW but I enjoyed it better than WoW, Morrowind, Oblivion etc. Don't know if you like vampires but you don't even have to to enjoy this.

^i second what the above poster said.
Bloodlines has a dark, awesome atmosphere that really sucks you in.
choose one of the vampire clans and inherit their unique vampire powers.
set in modern L.A., meet vamps, thugs, werewolves, hookers, and helpless bystanders to quench your bloodthirst.
dont forget to download the patch

There's this new PvP MMORPG Darkfall everyone must've heard coming. Will be released at 22th January. It sounds cool but tbh I think full loot and no safe zones leads to stupid ganging and you can keep your armor max 30mins which sucks. I definately will be trying that one out, especially that there's nothing left to do in GW, just waiting for GW2.

I wouldn't call this "similar" to GW at all, but
eng.pristontale.com
Pros: Kill random stuff with no specific storyline, 100% free, good graphics
Cons: There's not a huge population that plays it, and much of them are just spamming to sell stuff, it's REALLY grindy (aka kill random stuff with no specific storyline), it can be kinda laggy, and the translations are crap.
Cons outweigh the pros, but if you're really bored give it a shot.

Try WoW, it was fun when I played it at my cousin's house but many people say it's a huge grind sometimes. You can also try CoD4 or CoD5 or if you have a 360, Gears of War 2.
