pumpkin, ads work in a # of different ways. Google ads are usually click based. Other ads are based on pageviews. And no Eragon, there's hardly any profit from the site. Gaming sites earn less per CPM then any others. Granted it could all be a massive conspiracy by the site owner telling me this so that I remain blissfully under his control and naively refrain from asking questions so that I don't make any demands to see the financials. As I said above though, a site is worth whatever someone will pay/let it go for. Even at a $100k though for the last 3-4 years for a fansite... is nothing to frown at. It's a fansite. I mean c'mon. Some people getting together to talk about a 3 year old game and someone might be willing to pay 6 figures? Hardly something to laugh at. :P Considering you start from nothing and in 4 years you might make a $122k profit??? If only we could all find such good investments.
