Sorry but I don't really know it's purpose lol. I think that it's to celebrate work thus everyone is off to celebrate it lol. On this day, most people like to give .

Also I think that today is a religious thing too.

I think (not really sure) that it's the equivalent of Labor's day, except that it's not the same day.

After looking on wikipedia I found the english name of worker day and it's : May Day or International Worker's day.

May Day sounds familiar....but geez we already have enough government holidays (no mail....on these days, sometimes I think they do that on purpose).

ah oh well another day , and another and another and well you get the idea---they are all pretty much alike for me (though did go shopping yesterday and got some yummy cheeses and taco-makings.....so some good dinners on the way!!)....now back to worrying.

Hmm, we don't have May Day here. Instead, we "celebrate" the ascension of Jesus. Celebrate meaning being lazy. We actually have 1 week of vacation usually, because the day before it's Queen's Day. Pretty awesome ^_^

And it's not really fair. I keep seeing GTA:IV commercials and people keep talking about it, but I can't buy it yet x.x It's killing me.

Does anyone here have it? If so, how good is it? I'll probably get my brother to buy it for me tomorrow. I'm too young to buy it for myself, unfortunately

You are thinking of their Victory Parade, from what I can find that is on April 22nd. It was designed to show the world the Russians power as they showed off all their weapons and heavy artillery. I think that was maybe a one time thing though during the cold war...

Not enough money to get it yet Earth? Bummer deal for you. Etta has it but I don't. I don't really like those games, I never follow the storyline so it would just be a waste of time for me. But I have heard it is good.

No, I have enough money, the problem is that I'm too young too get it, and that all the shops are closed, just like yesterday. So yeah, I'll have to convince my brother to get it for me if I give him the money.

I usually just go around crashing things in GTA tbh, but I follow the storyline aswell. I just like to go around and kill random things.
