All you people living withing a couple hundred miles of New Madrid .... read up on it. Pretty nasty stuff.

We felt it here but I slept through it. But we also had an aftershock at 10. Didn't feel a thing cause I was on the main floor of a building. But oh well it happens. Fun stuff with all the earthquakes.

being married to a geologist (and going to school along said fault) I know more than I want to about earthquakes (living in japan for 2 years ---when the big niigata one happened didnt help either).
New Madrid is WAAAAAY over due---its supposed to release every 150 years, the last one was what 1812??? uhm, that puts the 150 year mark around the time I was born ----40+ years ago!!!
When I was in college and started dating said geologist it was pretty scary to think we could have a big earthquake here in the midwest sometime soon---welllllll
as it goes there was a tiny earthquake in the chicago land area in the late 1980's (on my birthday if memory serves me right)....but it wasnt anything to write home about as they say....and they do get tiny shocks every once in a while (2.5 or less is tiny---if you arent ready for it, you wont even know).

New Madrid moving is enough for a big story in the midwest which is not normally know for its seismic activity......and seeing as some of the posters here have mentioned living in said area I thought it was a good topic for OT....not food or sports related!

Hope that its just doing some 'releasing' and not before shocks-----(gotta call my family then--they still live around there).

dang now I feel old....can we go back to the volcanos and earthquakes ---they just scare me....or food that makes me----hungry (just got back from the grocery store, got some tasty bread for fiep to nibble on ---and his bazillion relatives who are now living with us, maybe its time to call the ex....)

Been playing my 360 since I picked it up at the local UPS store!!

I live in Vancouver Canada, and we are overdue for a huge huge earth quaek. The city is basically on two stuck plates, (cosy should know) and we are basically right beside a faultline, so the next quake will be huge!!!

Need to start preparing!!

Overdue ? I hate when they use that term, it's like they are sad that it hasn't happend yet (ie : most volcanoes, earthquakes, super-novas and most disasters you can think)...

We get 20 mins of free internet >.> I'm in the mess right now. Army treating good, going out to the field in a week to start shooting and do probably the toughtest part of the whole camp, the 13k Force march.

Not a 100% suprise, but still suprise, how bout you guys, how ya been, what going on? whining I'm guess eh!
