Fish are made for EATING. Without fishing, their populations would skyrocket and destroy the ecosystem (since they don't really have enough natural predators these days) PETA are a bunch of morons...

Don't be absurd, off course fish feel pain. There are study done FYI.
If one needed to eat the fish, then fishing isn't wrong or inhumane at all.
But fishing for the sake of fishing and then releasing them is actually quite inhumane IMHO. I am not a big fan of PETA's way of advertising but they are at least doing something. So I am not criticising them.

22 of the 50 receptor's in a Rainbow Trout's head respond to the stimulus of pain. Some are in their mouths, and they display the natural symptoms of shock and post-traumatic stress when injured.
Pumpkin is right...fish can feel pain.
Either way, I'd never give money to PETA simply because I think there's a million more things that deserve my money. lol. The add campaign amuses me though, and they're not totally wrong in saying that if fish were as cute as kittens more people would be sympathetic; but they neglect to mention that if fish were as cute as kittens they'd be subjected to more extreme forms of torture by the types of people who like to cause cute and helpless things pain. It's not as black and white as they're suggesting. Animal abuse is a very serious thing, and while catch and release fishing isn't my idea of a good time, it's ultimately less cruel to have that done to you once, than to be steadily tortured for the entirety of your life by some of the sickos that we all know are out there...

The membranes in their mouth do not have receptors linked to the pain centers of their brains. The inner parts of their mouths do, but oh well! Fish are only traumatized for a few hours, maybe a day at best. Besides, that study you refer to used trout, and only trout. I would like to see substantial evidence of other fish with the same receptors.

I'm against excessive cruelty to animals , but what PETA does is simply idiotic.

How ironic. They obviously are creating the right image! *cough*
Just watch, now people are going to eat kittens, because kittens are edible, right?

The fish stories in there are the best.
Wasn't there a fish in there who graduated from fish school with top honours?
I mean.
Fish school.
Also, it's not like people don't abuse kittens. Suddenly attempting to cute-ify fish is not going to change a thing. (I don't support fishing for sport, but some things are just ridiculous.)
