A lot of you people don't understand the enormous pressure that actors are under to get a scene right.

Seriously, Bale had a lot of pent up rage and the idiotic photography director is to blame for it. He deserves it

I agree with you blue. This director guy shouldn't even walk around on set. I mean it's hard enough for actors like Bale to remember all his lines and what he needs to do. To have this idiot walk around like it's the supermarket, it's ridculous!! Glad Bale chewed out the guy. Wonder if this director is fired now?

The director should have been talked to by the mistake he made but Bale ripped a new one and that is NOT professional at all.

Both of them were unprofessional. As an actor Bale was probably under a lot of stress, and the director of photography ruined the shot. Apparently it was the most intense scene of the film.

So let me ask you, as an actor under stress shooting the most intense scene of a big movie, the director of photography steps on set and ruins the shot. How do you handle it? I highly doubt you're going to shrug it off and calmly talk to the person.

Anyways, Bale and Hurlbut (the director of photography) resolved the issue.

I agree that they were both unprofessional, but the above posters were saying that Christian Bale was justified into saying things that became verbal abuse because the DP did a mistake. Shouting at someone, fine but what Christian Bale was doing was verbal abuse. The DP was actually apologizing while Bale was ranting off and Bale still went on for 4 minutes.

They're also other jobs that have extremely stressful situations than acting, but shoot me dead if actors are the only people whom get to verbally abuse someone in the work place.

I also have high doubts that many people would have made their comments as long as he did. I am not saying that people are in total control of their emotions in the work place but I found Bales angry comments to be excessive. I have met and seen some very angry workers under very stressful conditions but I've never seen them use a co-worker as a verbal punching bag for 4 minutes.

Well he has made an apology, although I think some people are still disappointed by his actions.

I agree. A good actor embodies his character (think Joker in Dark Knight played by Ledger) If Bale is really in character of John Connor, he would have to be a very stressed, very emotionally driven, very angry character. When you are in that mindset, you act that way, even out of scene. Personally, if his rageout was that angry, he is going to make a perfect John Connor. I think the movie is going to be absolutely amazing.

Terminator is one of the best series ever created.

Exact situation? No one other than Christian Bale could understand the emotions that were erupting in him during that time in the exact situation. I am sure some actors can empathize with Christian Bale as well as many workers whom also have very stressful jobs. So as a person who has dealt with people who've had very stressful jobs, I can judge all I want, as also people who have had dealt with stressful situations relating to their job.

I am sure that many people have dealt with a lot of stress relating to their job and had a bad week or day.
