Lotro is probably doing fine, WAR will perhaps be saved if 1.1 turns out to fix performance, ORvR and scenario problems.
1. Fix the performance - so that people can play at RECOMMENDED specs, high-end PCs don't choke as badly as in Crysis or Fallout 3.
2. ORvR - They wanted it to be the main point of the game, but it's more or less either a dead area, where people don't play, or they attack, then don't defend, because they have no reason to. The other faction captures the keep, then they capture it defended only by NPCs. Not really fun, if you ask me. Also, rewards suck.
3. Scenarios - too big rewards, too little effort.

I didnt count Lotro as it was released a year or two ago, or i'm dreaming things up.
And agreed on abedeus' points. For me they just have to fix the performance issues and it'll be worth playing again for me, but it's ridiculous that i can get about 150 fps on CoD4 and 5 and then about 5-10 on the lowest setting in WAR when there are more than 10 people/npc's on screen...

RE:Tabula Rasa Shutting Down
Just started playing TR a couple of months ago, needed a break from GW as I have played since Mar of 06
This game is a great mmo shooter and I'm really sad too see it end this way !
For those of you who are curious about Tabula Rasa ?
It will go to complete "Free-Play" starting on Jan 10th till the servers shut down on Feb 28th, that gives you about 50 days to try this game out (for free) before it goes the way of the dinosaurs.........................
I'am organizing a mass get together on Jan 10th to meet and greet the new recruits out of bootcamp and help them out with missions/quests
We will be staging it in Alia Das which is the outpost a new recruit comes to after bootcamp in TR
So any of you wanting to try this game out and for "Free" (and we all like free stuff) give it a try !
My surname in the game on the Orion server is Galatea

Actually, it has received a LOT of publicity. But most of the reviews were "average", because game is "average".
Plus, it's Richard Garriott, he's name is more than a recommendation for a lot of people.

RE: Tabula Rasa Shutting Down
I would not consider this game "average" since you can level to 50 on TR and on Guild Wars, we are all stuck on 20 !
Plus I have had some of the best loot drops for armor and weapons in TR compared to Guild Wars..........................
Bottom line is: NCsoft did not market/advertise this game in a professional manner as with other software companies (notice how well Mythic is doing with Warhammer) Quite Well !
Anyways, any of you interested in trying TR for free ?
The link for the 7 day free trial is still up, even though the mainpage isn't showing it !
And here it is: http://www.rgtr.com/trial/index.html
If any of you decide to try out the free trial, I would do it by Jan 3rd, 2009
that would give you 57 days of free play since the game goes to free play on Jan 10th, 2009 until the servers are turned off on Feb 28th, 2009
Omega Of Darthonia
Link is dead as of 12/11/08
Guess they decided to "can" the free trial.........................

that's because they're two different types of MMOs
GW has a low lvl cap and no "epic" weapons/armor by choice, not because its a bad game (its a bad game for other reasons ;D)
Tabula Rasa was pretty much "generic mediocre MMO + guns in space" which is why it failed. It gave a lot of MMO conventions fancy new names, but that didn't change what the game was; mediocre.

He hasn't had a hit since UO came out 10+ years ago. He's washed up and really needs to go back to his roots.

People have good memory.
Same as why I try to remember Blizzard thanks to Diablo 2, not WoW.
