That's terrible! Where oh where will I download my Dawn of War mods now?! I can't help but wonder why they're "forced" to shut down, everything seemed fine and dandy.

EDIT: Oh, and the link you posted doesn't load for some reason. (now it loads...)

EDIT2: According to http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl.../03/26/0443239 it's due to the turn in the economy. This is how bad it's gotten I guess.

must have been me downloading too many free to play mmorpg from them .... anyone play 2moons btw?? i can't casue my ip is being discriminated. so if you have please tell me if its any good or tis just another crappy game like 9dragons.

From what i saw of my friend playing it, its a pretty crappy game. Probably best to get word from someone who's actually played it though.
I loved the mods etc that you could download on FileFront, i hope they get hosted somewhere else.

It's just a terrible MMO. I wouldn't bother touching it if I were you, if I recall it has gore, but the gameplay is generic and dull.

EDIT: I suppose I shouldn't be so harsh, but the game is pretty much built FOR grinding. Really high level cap, and no quests if I recall. However, I will give it the fact that the spell effects and animations are INCREDIBLE. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVKSKstoqKM for an example.

Ziff Davis, the media concern which used to own FileFront has not given an "official" reason, but economic downfall is a very good bet. ZD has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy quite a while ago. After this they sold the 1Up network and discontinued the "Gaming Today" news service, all due to financial troubles.

Ex employees from Filefront are working on setting up a new network, which would be privately owned. They have managed to salvage most, if not all of the mods previously hosted on the network websites. "Official" news from these ex-employees will be posted in this forum, whilst more information about the closing is available here. Information supplied on that forum comes from high-ranking volunteers on Filefronts' forum and network, and the previously stated paid (ex-)employees.

Ziff Davis are kind of b**tards when it comes to their IPs. From what I've learned, they have a tendency to buy up magazines and web sites, lose money on them (run them into the ground), and close them down.
