Worst Experience at a retail store
As a worker or a customer
Mine:
3 worst experiences as an amployee
First, taking out a diaper filled with poop from a shopping cart,
Second, dealing with a customer almost everyday who is strict on the price even though its only 10 cents...
third, working at retail.

Drooling over computer parts in the store, then having the employees treat me like I'm retarded when it comes to computers. :\ They talk to me really slow and say things like: "The more GB you have the more things you can save to your computer. Like music~" etc etc. Girls can be nerds too kkty.
Most of my terrible experiences were in the food industry though.

My bad experiences are mostly having to deal with apple store and their engineers. If you think pc world techs are bad, wait til you have to deal with those guys.

Book store while on holiday in South Africa. 12 tills, queue of at least 10 people, only one cashier. Who was slow. 6 or so people on the floor of the store just milling around doing nothing, the manager included. Oh and then the cashier decided to go on lunch break...
Oh and I'll agree with Alexander on females being patronised in computer stores, I get it all the time. Although its fun when you ask for high performance stuff and the clerk's jaw drops.

PC World
The people they employ in those places are ridiculous, the only thing the floor staff seem to know about pc's is that bigger numbers tends to be better. I once asked one guy if he knew where SATA cables were and he didn't even know what a SATA cable was...
Only people in there that seem to know anything are the technical staff surprisingly.

well if Walmart counts as retail, then i'd have to go with that.
1. incompetent, underpaid employees with lousy benefits.
2. stupid and inconsiderate shoppers (with an ~80% obesity rate) who run over you in their handi-fat carts when you know damn well they can walk.
3. no cheese ravioli!! wtf...every other store has it...
4. ridiculously long check-out lines (the one you are in will ALWAYS be the slowest)
5. walmart-brand clothing...need i say more.
yes, were i to go to hell i'm sure i'd be living out eternity in a crowded walmart.

Someone I went to highschool with (years after the fact) that I pretty much hated in school (who also knows absolutely nothing) tried to come up and help me with something and then after saying hi, they had to go help someone with something and then we made the fastest "which one should we get" decision ever, checked out and left the store like immediately after they turned their back.
Totally didn't want to talk to that idiot, well alone watch them try to tell me about what I was looking at when I knew like 50x more about it than they did and I totally didn't want to talk to them at all, well alone that...
Yuh... I hold grudges for a long, long, longggggg time.

This and asking me if I want the extended warranty. STFU already! If I wanted it I would have asked for it!
On a side note do not take psychedelics and go into a book store and read funny books/magazines the management really frowns on 3 guys that are ROFL in the middle of the store

I loled a little.
My most annoying experiences:
1. Walking past the cell phone booth-store near the entrance to the mall. If they don't have a customer, they start harassing you to buy something.
2. The manga isle in one of the local book store. It's usually crowded with kiddies lying in the isles, bending the spines of the books they aren't going to buy.
3. The sales reps at gamestop who try to get me to reserve something when I'm buying and usually try to get me to reserve whatever pops into their head.
4. Drive thrus that screw up my order.
5. Movie theaters that turn the sound up too much.

lol I hate cell phone booths in the mall! One time this one guy *saw me with my Oakland Raiders jacket on* tried to talk to me about the Raiders and Cell-Phone at the same time. I find that pathetic.

I'm a cashier at a drug store - the dumbest, most frequent question I get is "Are you open?" WHEN:
1. I'm standing at the till
2. My till light is on
I want to say: DO YOU SEE A BIG FING SIGN ON MY FOREHEAD SAYING "I'M STANDING HERE FOR LULZ"???
Good lord.
The store I work at is in a kind of sketchy area; lots of bums...We were robbed at knifepoint a few months ago; a drunk almost crashed into the store but was stopped by a bus sign...I think someone also peed on the floor in the cosmetics department once.
Never a dull moment, working in retail.
