My Search Engine Story
As i was browsing through threads i noticed many posts like "Learn to use damn search engine" and "Omg use search that topic was here *link*, here *link* and here *link* " So one day i got a similar message. I was excited. As new guru user i wanted to explore the unknown, the enigma called search. So i decided to learn how to use it. Since i didnt knew what red engine , gored engine was i decided to look up for that and the definition of it. Here's how it happened:
*click search*
-Please log in...
-"Ow right, silly me"
*loging in*
*click search*
*type red engine*
*loading page*
*loading page*
*loading page* (10 sec after)
-Database error
-"What the...? Ow this happens sometimes"
*refresh*
*refresh* (15 sec after)
-"Ah here we are..."
*click search*
-Please log in...
-"Hmmm ..again?!
*loging in*
*click search*
*type red engine*
-Searching...
*loading page*(15 sec after)
-"Hmm these are just threads where people just mentioned red engine, not any of them gives a definition what it is...I'll keep searching..."
*types red engine gored engine*
*search*
-You need to wait 30 sec betwen searches, please wait 15 sec..
-"o kaay..."
*search*
-You need to wait 30 sec betwen searches, please wait 5 sec...
*search*
*loading page*
*loading page* (10 sec after)
-The following words were excluded from search :red
-"Hmm why would you do that?? Nevermind i'll just make it include red in searching.
*loading page*
-"Ahh here are some new treads!"
And after a bag of eaten chips and many treads browsed and posts scrolled down our hero said:
-"Damn it this is just people mentioning red engine , i can't find anywhere a post where someone explains what it is. Maybe i'll type red engine definition in search engine. Yeah, that will help"
*types red engine definition *
*click search*
*loading page*
*loading page*
*loading page*
-Hmmmm???? It seems that nothing is happening.
*refresh* (5 sec after)
*refresh*( 5 more sec after)
*refresh*
-Error, page cannot be found... please try refreshing the page or check weather you connection is....
-"Aaaaa god damn it, come on.
*refresh*
*refresh*
*refresh*
*refresh*
- "Sigh, nothing..."
So after clearing browser history and clearing browser cash our hero managed to get to guru again.
-"Ok, i'm back on track, what was i going to do... ah yes ... search red engine definition"
*click search*
-Please log in...
-" Omg, for the love of god..."
*loging in*
*click search*
*type red engne definiion*
*click search*
-Searching...
-Whops , i seem to misstyped that..."
*types red engine definition*
*click search*
-You need to wait 30 sec betwen searches, please wait 20 sec...
- " FCK YOU !!! you annoying piece of sht...
And after our hero said so many things that there wasnt enough red engine for it , he later on typed in google red engine gored engine, clicked on one of the links and read on some other forum what red engine truly is. He concluded that he is probably too stupid to use THE search ...either that or something was wrong with search engine...but its more likely the first thing.
So he decided never again to use search.
THE END

Try this: www.google.com
type this:
Code:
go red engine meaning site:guildwarsguru.com
Adding a site flag will make google search only pages spidered to that particular domain.
It sounds like your problem is with cookies though. Log out of Guru, close Guru, delete the cookies for Guru, close your browser and start it again, go to Guru and log in.. see if that helps.

you are using the wrong search word. almost 90% of the thread has Red Engine in them, the database is too big for the search function to handle.

LMAO...i'm nearly in tears after reading your post darkknight. i had a similar search engine story, complete with "please wait 20 more seconds before searching". i can totally understand why alot of people just give up or don't bother searching...it can be a real pain in the ass sometimes.
but like someone said earlier, if you search using more specific words or phrases, it is usually a bit faster and you find what you are looking for quicker.
