Your adventures in Aion begin this September! NCsoft is proud to announce that Aion launches in North America on September 22, 2009 and makes its official debut in Europe starting September 25, 2009.

if you preordered or willbe you will get a headstart starting 48 hours before september 22 noon pst , so starting september 20th at noon pst .

please note that the head start will start for eu onthe same day but doesnt say if eu server will close after the 48 hours til the officail release date of the 25th

1394 hours til aion starts for headstart players
1442 sti offcial release date

I'm waiting for the reviews to come out before I decide to get it or not. The last MMO I picked up (AoC) was a disappointment so I'm not going to waste my money like that again.

ODST is released 22nd so wont be gettign Aion sadly... BUt it does look like a very delicious game.. i just dont like anime feel it has.. i (Hate anime....flame me now =))

Oh boy was it ever. I still have the guilt of telling 3 of my friends to buy that piece of garbage.

This one does look promising and I put a deposit on the CE. But I'm not buying it till I fully make my mind up. Once bitten...

i was talking to my local ebgames guys. according to them, Aion only has the graphics going for it. for everything else, the game is rather crude.

I made the same mistake with AoC too. I were trying so hard to break away from GW and find something else, and got tricked by all the hype and screenshots of AoC.

The hype for Aion has also gotten to me, but this time I will wait untill I have tried the trial first before I buy, and maybe even a price drop.

Yeah, that's probably why there are 4 millions of people playing in China and growing, and I had a lot of problems getting on the last EU beta and they had make second server because of all the people.

For me it's the major Lineage influence present in the art style, also in many Korean MMO's.

Different games for different regions. What's popular in what part of the world isn't the same for another. For an example I'll just mention Lineage once more.

You can even just pick up a copy of Game Informer and compare the top 5 spot in the states to the top 5 in Japan: You'll notice some pretty drastic differences.

I'm playing on the chinese server for like a month now and took part in every european closed betas, and all I know is that I'm more excited about Aion then about Guild Wars, ever.

I've looked forward to, and enjoyed, the betas of this game more than I ever enjoyed playing Guild Wars.

@Winterclaw: Yeah, I played that steaming pile as well. However, the Koreans and Chinese are pissed at the quality of game we are getting. They suffered through the bugs to get the clean build we will get as a final release. AoC we got the friggin' beta AS a final release. Hell, I actually spent big chunks of the game atop Venturon admiring my character and enjoying the view.

for those who dont wanna buy the game before trying it. dont wait for a trail. all you have to do is the following go to eb games puta 5 dllars desit down on the game you willgeta beta key . ther is betas going on all month of july an most of augest. if you dont like the game you can movre the 5 dollar deposit to a different game.

as for how many players read somethignon mmorpg that aion broke 2o million accounts made and preordered this weekend. and that between china korea japon aussie eu and na . if that true then so long wow . in under a year aion has done what wow couldnt do in 4 year+. now all they have to do is keep people playing.

i do know for a fact that chna +korea alone is at over 7 mil accounts now and japon is promting it all over with coca cola they made a special coke for aiona nd are doigna contest like what we get for like nfl and such lol . tyign to see what the prizes are but cant trans it all the way yet. i do know ther codes under the caps you enter them in and wn things .

hopefully we get more of that in america, i know europe has been promting the aion soft drink tooo

^The prizes are special Coke weapons and armor parts that you can exchange ingame at a special Coke NPC. I'm gonna post a picture if I can find it.

NA/EU won't have any kind of advertising, since in NA for example you don't really have to advertise Coke. You guys are drinking more cola then water over there.
