p2p sucks, not because you have to pay more, but because you don't own the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing game.
Never.
And you can't just ignore it for 2-3 Month and then log back in and continue playing if you don't pay during the inactive time.
Don't like our new content updates?
Well RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO you, you are going to pay for them with your fee anyway.
|
Calm down kiddo.
You never own a game. You own the license of the game, and in case of MMOs, you also pay for the right to play on their servers.
Why can't you ignore it for 2-3 months? My characters in WAR were intact when I returned for the free 10-day "return trial" after several months.
Also, how can you complain about CONTENT UPDATES? They cost you nothing if you pay the fee already and they always are bigger than content updates in GW.

I didn't pay for WoW for a year and then one day decided to play again so I logged into the website set my sub back up and logged in to play mere minutes afterward.

I used to hate P2P until I realized that developers who run P2P games actually give a damn about what the community says. No lag, VERY quick support, regular patches and updates with new content that isn't just rehashes or reskins (cough) not to mention it's incredibly more fun and long lasting.
I have no problem paying for Aion, and to think you believe it's bullshit to pay for quality is astonishing, honestly. GW is free to play and you don't own your account any more than you'd own a WoW or Aion account, so jump off the GW bandwagon if you don't know how to properly defend the game.

After some thinking....I am now downloading the client.....just to see if it can run on my computer. Shows how strong I am to resist this after watching three trailers.

I think there's two more betas(one is next weekend), but I dont have a key yet. I'm DL'ing the client first to see if everything runs smoothly.

At 69% right now. Wondering if I should order the CE from amazon. From what I've heard and read, Aion looks really cool and hopefully is a lot of fun. Not that GW isn't fun right now(), but something new would be refreshing.

I'm hoping I can release my budget problems to play it, but oh well.
Just thought it could be like GW, since I realize you get what you pay for, but it could've been like a tradition thingy lol

Oh, I guess I am confused then. So you're just downloading the client? What does that do? You won't be able to play the game, right?

Right, you need to have bought an account before you can play. All you get with the client is the screen asking for your account name and PW. If you preorder Aion before tomorrow then you should get a beta key for this coming weekend.

I think he can pre-order and get a key any time before Open Beta to get a key.
Not for this beta, maybe, but for the next one. There are still beta's 4, 5 and 6, then Open Beta for everyone.

I preordered the CE from amazon and am awaiting my beta key to come via email. I hope this game lives up to the hype i've been hearing about. Looks a lot different than Guild Wars, which is good.

Yeh Aion really disappointed me,there were rumours about a one off fee and that was it...Aion looked like my perfect version of Guild Wars, now I'll have to wait for GW2. I mean RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing seriously,£45 for the collectors edition when yeh you technically don't own anything...
I absolutely bloody hate P2P,I bought the game let me play it godam you RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing money hungry pigs *cough NCsoft who ruin all their games'.
edit:I wouldn't mind if it was £5 a month, that easily would cover their fees and turn out profit.

I wish NCSoft all the best with Aion, and if some of you lot enjoy it, great. NCSoft is funding development of GW2, so I hope this proves successful for them so I can ignore it and play GW2.

45 pounds for the CE? You would pay for the extras, the figurine and so on. Game costs 25 pounds, standard edition.
Also, you REALLY would like Aion to be F2P? With item shop, where you would still have to buy $10 of items to be equal to other people? Because it was obvious since the beginning that it will be P2P. You don't seem to understand it, but buying a MMO in a retail shop, you own the license to play the game for the time you pay for. Just because you bought a car, doesn't mean you can ride all you want - you still have to pay for the gas, technical service and so on.
Oh, and one of the reasons I'm GLAD Aion is P2P is that there will be less kids and there will not only be more content, but also a good COMMUNITY MANAGER. I'm looking at you, Regi... oh, she's not here.
