Thanks for that insightful post.
Anyway, I'm pretty certain that there won't be a Joker in Nolan's coming Batman films. There isn't any particular need for it, and after Ledger's performance, it would be unfair on both the audience and the new actor.

What about villains that have never been introduced for the movies?
For example, how about Black Mask and the False Face Society? How about Man-Bat?

Johnny Depp is overrated. I think the the perfect fit would have to be Joseph Gordon Levit. Now he would make an awesome joker.

^ OMG i LOVE that movie...
imo, there shouldn't be another joker. he's been done. and done well.
i would be open to any other villain, even one that's been done before (freeze & riddler & penguin). the great thing about Nolan's version of Batman is that it's been fortunate enough to have a GREAT script and very good character development.
the real challenge is finding quality actors (like Bale, Ledger, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Cillian Murphy, Morgan Freeman, even Aaron Eckhart [given the crappy romcom that's about to release]).
so yea, all that to say - i'm excited about the new movie and hope it continues to impress.

here's your new JOKER
http://nag.tidemedia.co.za/wp-conten...ectx11_cb5.jpg
although I think it might be best to just move on without him.... if they can work a plausible end to him into the movie somehow.... using DX11 in a brief scene/flashback perhaps????

yeah agree with others -- like so many superhero movie sequels, the hero remains the same but the villain changes. To keep the franchise fresh and interesting, they'll dig through the comics for the next best villain who hasn't been done
Also, you can bet Depp won't touch something where he's not the main character and doesn't get at least 75% of the lines and/or screen time.

In response to Will Farrell..
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!! Farrell is a HORRIBLE actor! See: Land of the Lost. He thinks he's funny, but he's not. He will absolutely DESTROY the Batman franchise!

I didn't think about this before, but they brought back Scarecrow in Dark Knight, even though his story was pretty much wrapped up in the first movie. It was practically a cameo for Cillian Murphy, considering the very limited screentime, and could have been left completely out of the movie.
I just don't see them doing something like that again, especially since it would have to be a different actor.
